A leading organization is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to manage talent acquisition, onboarding, and employee relations. The candidate will oversee compliance with regulations, support staff development, and foster a positive work environment. Ideal candidates will possess extensive HR experience and strong interpersonal skills, with a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Manages and/or oversees the administration of talent acquisition, onboarding, new hire orientation, recordkeeping, and benefits. Provides front-line interface with staff and/or leaders in matters related to employee relations to include staff training and development, engagement, recognition, performance management, coaching and discipline, and in the development, implementation, and enforcement of policies and practices that comply with all applicable laws and regulations, and are consistent with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada (BGCSNV) mission, vision and values and its commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I). Handles full cycle investigations, providing recommendations in partnership with department leaders and the Chief Administrative Officer, while ensuring a positive employment climate for the organization.
Administrative Duties
1. Assists in the establishment and implementation of policies and procedures for the effective management of human resources, ensuring compliance with federal, state and local laws, regulations, and community practice, as well as Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada mission and values.
2. In collaboration with the Chief Administrative Officer, provides information to staff to support management decision-making regarding policy issues, employee relations, compensation, benefits practices and costs, and recruitment practices.
3. Thoroughly investigate all issues of dispute, disciplinary concerns, and suspensions; mediate resolution and thoroughly document all aspects of each case for files.
4. Promotes awareness of BGCSNV and stimulates internal and external interest in career opportunities; establishes and implements a variety of effective recruitment approaches to include online job boards, job fairs, community outreach; and track the outcomes/effectiveness of each approach.
5. Controls expenditures against budget in the area of recruitment. Support proactive strategies for responding to employee relations issues to minimize potential expense.
6. Assists in the management of administrative and operational systems for maintaining all employment and personnel records in compliance with legal requirements; ensures the proper maintenance and retention of all personnel records and produces records requested by auditors.
7. Supports a productive work environment that encourages positive, effective working relationships and open communications that are respectful of the gender and cultural diversity of staff. In collaboration with Chief Administrative Officer, ensures prompt, appropriate action to respond to conflicts between staff members.
8.Supports the selection of staff with the qualifications necessary for successful performance. Recommends recruitment resources and strategies. Ensures that the recruitment process and associated records are maintained in compliance with regulatory requirements.
9. Assists in the development and presentation of staff training.
10. Maintain high visibility within the organization by visiting clubs and attending department meetings when appropriate.
Other Duties
1. Manage the administration of employee benefits programs.
2. Oversee the administration of drug/alcohol testing: pre-employment, reasonable suspicion, and random.
3. Oversee the administration of background and reference checks.
4. Support and assist in employee orientation.
5. May be assigned other duties as requested by supervisor.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and/or Abilities
• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience and/or PHR or SHRM-CP certification is preferred.
• A minimum of five years’ experience in a human resources generalist capacity.
• Current knowledge of best practices in human resource management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 suite.
• Strong administrative and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements affecting human resources management.
• Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
• Scrupulous attention to detail and confidentiality.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
• Ability to sit, stand or walk for prolonged periods, and stoop and kneel occasionally.
• Ability to speak and hear to use telephone, conduct meetings, etc.
• Ability to effectively use computer, lift papers and files.
• Ability to push, pull, reach for and lift articles up to 15 pounds.
