Job summary

North Florida Sales in Jacksonville, FL, seeks an experienced HR professional to lead policy development, benefits administration, compliance, and employee relations on-site at our office. You will develop and implement HR programs, supervise records and audits, recruit and orient new hires, and advise management on legislative requirements to ensure equity and cost efficiency.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least four years of exempt-level experience; PHR

Responsibilities

  • Develops, recommends, and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures.
  • Administers benefit programs such as life, health, and dental insurance, retirement plan, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.
  • Oversees analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies, and other departments in the organization.
  • Recruits, interviews, screens, and selects employees to fill vacant positions.
  • Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward Company goals.
  • Coordinates management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.
  • Represents organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.

  • Develops, recommends, and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures.
  • Administers benefit programs such as life, health, and dental insurance, retirement plan, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.
  • Performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, annual re-evaluation of policies for cost effectiveness, and information activities program.
  • Advises department managers of Company policy regarding equal employment opportunities, compensation, and employee benefits.
  • Consults legal counsel to ensure that policies comply with federal and state law.
  • Develops and maintains a human resources system that meets top management information needs.
  • Oversees the analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies, or other departments in the organization.
  • Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance. Studies legislation, arbitration decisions, and collective bargaining contracts to assess industry trends.
  • Recruits, interviews, screens, and selects employees to fill vacant positions.
  • Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward Company goals.
  • Keeps records of benefit plan participation such as insurance and retirement plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
  • Coordinates management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.
  • Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization. Administers salary administration program to ensure compliance and equity within organization.
  • Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
  • Represents organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
  • Provides strong support to auditors during annual retirement plan audit, and payroll audit.
  • Contracts with outside suppliers to provide employee services, such as temporary employees, search firms, or relocation services.

Education And/or Experience

Bachelor's degree in related field preferred; and a minimum of four years related exempt level experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to management, employees, or public groups.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to payroll as well as practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply HR concepts and principles, as well as federal, state and local government laws and regulations, to a wide range of intellectual and complex situations, as well as practical situations. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

PHR or SHRM-CP Certification preferred.
