Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support payroll, recruiting, onboarding, and employee relations in a lean, single-person HR department. You will own ADP Workforce Now payroll processing, ensure multi-state compliance, and manage benefits and HRIS updates.

You will also handle employee relations, investigations, leaves, and policy maintenance, acting as the primary HR resource for employees and managers. Bachelor's degree preferred; SHRM/PHR a plus.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of hands-on HR Generalist experience.
• ADP Workforce Now (WFN) experience required.
• Payroll processing experience required.
• Experience with recruiting, onboarding/offboarding, employee relations, workplace investigations, benefits, and workers’ compensation.
• Working knowledge of federal and multi-state employment laws and HR compliance.
• SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar HR certification a plus.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration or similar preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll accurately and timely using ADP Workforce Now, including employee changes, deductions, new hires, and terminations.
• Ensure multi-state compliance with applicable federal and state employment laws and regulations.
• Manage full-cycle recruiting, including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, offers, and pre-employment requirements.
• Manage employee onboarding and offboarding, including documentation, I-9s, benefits enrollment, and HRIS updates.
• Serve as the primary HR resource for employees and managers.
• Manage employee relations matters, including performance concerns, corrective action, workplace conflicts, and time management.
• Conduct and document workplace investigations.
• Administer employee benefits, including enrollments, qualifying life events, open enrollment, and employee questions.
• Maintain HR policies, employee handbooks, personnel files, and required employment documentation.
• Manage leaves of absence and related documentation.
• Manage workers’ compensation claims, including reporting, documentation, carrier coordination, and return-to-work follow-up.
• Maintain accurate employee information and HR records in ADP Workforce Now.
• Handle additional day-to-day HR responsibilities as needed.

You're A Great Fit If You Have:

• Experience working as a sole HR professional or in a small HR department preferred.
• SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar HRcertificationa plus.
