Job summary

Cognito Forms is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to own the full HR function for a growing, multi-state organization. You will partner with leadership to implement HR initiatives while overseeing day-to-day operations, shaping the employee experience, and strengthening our culture.

You will lead recruiting, onboarding, performance management, benefits, payroll, compliance, and HR policy updates, delivering results through collaboration, data, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, business, or related field.
• 5+ years HR experience with broad generalist responsibilities.
• Experience supporting a multi-state workforce and staying compliant with employment laws.
• SHRM certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of recruiting, benefits, payroll, and performance management.
• Experience administering payroll and HR systems.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to earn trust.

Responsibilities

• Lead full employee lifecycle: recruiting, onboarding, performance management, development, offboarding.

• Administer benefits, open enrollment, vendor relations, and employee education.
• Manage payroll administration and HR data accuracy/compliance.
• Develop, maintain, and communicate HR policies and handbook updates.

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws across a multi-state workforce.
• Lead compensation initiatives and market analyses; support performance reviews.
• Analyze HR metrics and provide leadership with reports and recommendations.
• Coordinate employee engagement initiatives and internal communications.
• Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, systems, and employee experience.

Who you are: Cognito Forms is looking for an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead all aspects of Human Resources for our growing organization. You'll partner closely with company leadership to develop and implement HR initiatives while overseeing the day-to-day HR function. This is a highly collaborative, hands-on role for someone who enjoys balancing strategic initiatives with day-to-day HR operations. You'll play a key role in shaping the employee experience, strengthening our culture, and supporting the company's continued growth.

What you will be responsible for:

• Lead the full employee lifecycle, including recruiting, onboarding, performance management, employee development, and offboarding.
• Partner with hiring managers to develop recruiting strategies, create job descriptions, manage interviews, and deliver an exceptional candidate experience.
• Administer employee benefits, including annual open enrollment, vendor relationships, and employee education.
• Manage payroll administration and employee data, ensuring accurate records and compliance.
• Develop, maintain, and communicate HR policies, employee handbook updates, and employment documentation.
• Advise managers and employees on employee relations matters, performance concerns, policy interpretation, and employment best practices.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across a multi-state workforce.
• Lead compensation initiatives, including salary benchmarking, annual compensation reviews, and market analysis.
• Manage the company's performance review process and support manager development through coaching and training.
• Analyze HR metrics and provide reporting and recommendations to leadership.
• Coordinate employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, company events, and internal communications.
• Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, systems, and the overall employee experience.

What you should bring to the table:

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience with broad HR generalist responsibilities.
• Experience supporting a multi-state workforce and maintaining employment law compliance.
• Strong knowledge of recruiting, employee relations, benefits administration, compensation, and performance management.
• Experience administering payroll, employee benefits, and HR systems.
• Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust across all levels of the organization.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
