Work Location Notice

The initial work location will be at our facility in Peekskill, NY. The operations are scheduled to relocate to Middletown, NY in early 2026. Candidates must be willing and able to work in Peekskill for approximately 6-8 months following their start date, then transition to Middletown.

Job Summary

The HR Manager oversees all HR functions, develops strategies, manages employee relations, performance management, and ensures legal and policy compliance. The role involves working closely with department heads to foster a positive environment and support company growth.

Responsibilities

1. Employee Relations: Serve as an advisor to employees and management, address concerns, investigate issues, and promote a positive environment.
2. Onboarding and Orientation: Develop onboarding programs, ensure pre-employment checks, and facilitate orientation sessions.
3. Performance Management: Implement appraisal processes, work with managers to improve performance.
4. Training and Development: Coordinate training programs, identify learning needs, and implement initiatives.
5. Benefits Administration: Oversee benefits, ensure compliance, and collaborate with vendors.
6. Policy Development and Compliance: Develop and update HR policies, stay informed on employment laws.
7. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI): Lead DEI initiatives, track goals, and foster an inclusive workplace.
8. Health and Safety: Collaborate with safety teams, ensure a safe environment, and promote wellness programs.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field.
2. Proven HR Manager experience in regulated industries, preferably cannabis.
3. Experience managing 300+ employees.
4. Knowledge of HR laws and best practices.
5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
6. Discretion with sensitive information.
7. HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) are a plus.
