Job summary

AMETEK, Inc. is seeking an Human Resources Manager to partner with business leaders and build strong talent capabilities. You will lead talent management, onboarding, performance and succession, while fostering an inclusive culture and engaging employees across the organization.

The role includes union-relation responsibilities, full-cycle recruiting, and continuous process improvement to boost efficiency and compliance. A strong focus on confidential, strategic advisory support is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field with at least 5 years of applicable experience.
  • SPHR or SHRM-SCP desired.
  • Experience in manufacturing plant preferred.
  • Experience in Talent Acquisition preferred.
  • Ability to interact and influence all levels of organization with confidence, building trust and rapport.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving ability, particularly in ambiguous or complex situations.
  • Demonstrated willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity and decision‑making.
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity.
  • Remains calm under pressure and is able to lead through difficult situations.
  • Strength in managing change leadership in high‑growth, cross‑functional organization.
  • Strong time management and project management abilities.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills (particularly Microsoft Office).
  • Highly proficient written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Talent Management: Develop, implement, and manage organizational programs relative to team member development, retention, performance management, onboarding, career development, and succession planning, to ensure a talent pipeline that will successfully enable current strategies and future growth.
  • Serve as the primary HR contact for a unionized workforce
  • Inclusive Culture / Employee Engagement: Build a culture that empowers all employees to bring their true and most productive selves to work. Embed inclusion in all people practices. Provide recommendations to managers on how to respond to emerging workplace trends and or how to address team member needs or issues within the guard rails of legal compliance and culture. Assist in implementation of team member engagement surveys, feedback sessions, and action planning. Actively personify and advocate for the company’s culture, brand, and values.
  • Talent Acquisition: Partner with hiring managers to evaluate talent needs and ensure acceptable staffing levels (current and future). Manage the full recruiting process. Focus on interviewing and selection to ensure a consistent, high quality talent pipeline. Assist hiring managers with the effective use of selection criteria and onboarding tools.
  • Process Improvement: Identify, advocate for, and implement best practices across all areas of the business; simplify or reduce non-value added processes. Help business units identify and resolve opportunities for increased efficiency or decreased bureaucracy. Enable and ensure compliance in regulated practices pertinent to department. Advocate for team member involvement and empowerment in decision making.

The Human Resources Manager ensures organizational talent is prepared to deliver exceptional performance through partnership with business leaders and by building strong organizational capabilities and culture. Utilize functional and technical expertise to develop, implement, manage and continuously improve strategies and tactics related to talent management, employee engagement, benefits, employee relations, organizational effectiveness and compensation.

Position Requirements:



  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field of study with at least 5 years of applicable experience.

  • SPHR or SHRM-SCP desired.

  • Experience in manufacturing plant preferred.

  • Experience in Talent Acquisition preferred.

  • Able to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving ability, particularly in ambiguous or complex situations. Understands and considers broad implications of business unit needs or decisions.

  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision‑making, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI‑generated outputs.

  • Is able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and integrity.

  • Remains calm under pressure and is able to lead through difficult (i.e. emotional, complex, legal) situations.

  • Strength in managing change leadership in high‑growth, cross‑functional organization.

  • Strong time management and project management abilities.

  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills (particularly Microsoft Office).

  • Highly proficient written and verbal communication skills.
