Company Description

Do you have HEART? In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the Human Resources function at a community. This position handles issues such as, but not limited to, recruiting, new hire orientation, benefits administration, payroll, and maintaining files. This position reports to the Executive Director and may be required to supervise other staff members.

Job Description

  1. Maintain personnel files.
  2. Conduct new hire orientation and administer benefits.
  3. Assist in answering employee questions or concerns.
  4. Ensure that payroll is accurately prepared and reported to the corporate office at the designated time.
  5. Process and file workers' compensation claims.
  6. Respect and maintain confidentiality of the office, records, and restricted information.
  7. Understand roles in the safety and disaster plan.
  8. Recommend procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover.
  9. Oversee the performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within the organization.
  10. Approve and monitor employee counseling, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans.
  11. Suggest and implement training opportunities.
  12. Participate in the Manager On-Duty program.
  13. Attend various community events.

Qualifications

  • Level of Formal Education: An Associate’s Degree (A.A) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Area of Study: Human Resources, Psychology, or Business preferred.
  • Years of Experience: 2+ years.
  • Type of Experience: Human Resources.
  • Language Skills: Acceptable fluency in English to perform job duties and communicate effectively in speaking, reading, and writing.
  • Technical Competencies: Proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Effective communication skills with all levels of management, employees, and external contacts.
  • Strong organizational skills.

Personal Attributes: Strong attention to detail.
