Job Title: Human Resources / Labor Relations Specialist

Location: Wentzville, MO (Onsite – Full Time)

Position Summary

The Human Resources / Labor Relations Business Partner will provide strategic and tactical HR support to assigned business functions. This role partners with business leaders to improve working relationships, enforce labor agreements, drive employee engagement, increase operational effectiveness, and support the attraction and retention of talent. This individual will also collaborate closely with Centers of Excellence (COEs) to align workforce strategies with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Labor Relations

  • Administer provisions of union-management agreements
  • Advise management and plant personnel on union-related matters and contract interpretation
  • Maintain records and documentation relevant to labor relations
  • Support preparation for local negotiations and partner with operations on initiatives to enhance competitiveness and employee experience
  • Facilitate resolution of employee grievances and assist with grievance-related investigations
  • Coordinate interdepartmental efforts to resolve issues related to union workforce
  • Provide guidance on seniority, contract provisions, and employee disputes
  • Analyze grievance trends and present findings to leadership for decision-making
  • Assist with manpower planning and workforce forecasting; monitor attrition and retention using data analytics
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Benefits, Payroll, IT, etc.) to resolve employee issues and ensure data integrity
  • Maintain accurate employee data in Workday

Human Resources

  • Partner with leadership to align HR strategy with business goals
  • Support sector-level and global HR initiatives
  • Contribute to HR communications and content for leadership meetings
  • Assist with compensation planning and administration
  • Interpret HR policies and ensure consistent application
  • Provide coaching and counsel to employees and managers
  • Conduct or support internal investigations and respond to Awareline complaints
  • Facilitate onboarding of salaried employees and manage student intern programs
  • Ensure timely and accurate HR transactions through systems like Workday
  • Lead or participate in special HR projects and initiatives
  • Use data analytics to support decision-making in talent and staffing strategies

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree (Human Resources, Labor Relations, or related field preferred)
  • Foundational knowledge in various HR practice areas
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel capabilities
  • Effective project management, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and execute plans

Preferred

  • Prior experience in HR or labor relations within a unionized manufacturing environment
  • UAW contract administration experience
  • PHR/SPHR certification
