Gain meaningful, hands‑on experience during a rewarding 12-week internship at one of ADM’s North American locations. You’ll collaborate with colleagues across the business, develop practical skills and contribute to projects that support real business needs.

ADM offers competitive pay for this full-time, 40-hour-per-week internship. Depending on your assigned location and distance from home, fully furnished housing and transportation assistance may also be provided to help support your transition.

  • Geographic flexibility: Must be located within commuting distance to Decatur or Chicago, IL. Housing is not provided for this position.
  • Availability: Must be available for a 12-week internship from mid-May through early August 2027.
  • Background check: Successful completion of a background check is required.
  • Work authorization: ADM is unable to provide work visa sponsorship for this position.

Job Summary

The North America Human Resources Intern will have the opportunity to gain broad, hands‑on experience supporting HR priorities across ADM’s North America organization. Working alongside HR leaders and business partners, the intern will contribute to meaningful projects while gaining exposure to how HR supports commercial, operations, and corporate teams across a complex global organization.

This internship is designed for a student interested in building a career in Human Resources and learning how HR partners with leaders to solve business and organizational challenges. The intern will have opportunities to contribute to strategic HR initiatives, participate in day‑to‑day business partnering activities, and develop an understanding of multiple areas of the HR function.

Throughout the internship, the intern will have opportunities to:

  • Build an understanding of how HR strategy connects to business strategy and performance.
  • Experience HR support across different environments, including commercial, corporate, and operations organizations.
  • Develop practical skills in HR business partnering, project management, data analysis, communication, and problem solving.
  • Build relationships with HR professionals and business leaders across ADM.
  • Gain exposure to multiple HR disciplines and potential career paths within Human Resources.
  • Present work and recommendations to HR leaders and other key stakeholders.
Responsibilities:

Responsibilities will vary based on business priorities and may include:

  • Support North America HR strategic projects and initiatives related to talent, organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, employee engagement, change management, and other people priorities.
  • Partner with HR leaders and HR Business Partners to analyze workforce or talent information, identify themes, and develop recommendations or materials to support business decisions.
  • Gain exposure to HR business partnering by participating in meetings and activities supporting commercial, operations, and corporate organizations.
  • Assist with talent and succession planning activities, including preparation of talent information, development planning, and follow‑up actions.
  • Support employee engagement and organizational effectiveness initiatives, including analysis of employee feedback and development of action plans or resources.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of HR programs, communications, presentations, and tools for leaders and employees.
  • Collaborate with HR colleagues across different areas of expertise to understand how HR teams work together to support the business.
  • Conduct research, benchmarking, and analysis on emerging HR practices or business needs and translate findings into practical recommendations.
  • Own an internship project or defined body of work that addresses a current North America HR or business priority and present findings and recommendations to HR leadership.
  • Participate in other HR and business activities that provide exposure to ADM’s people, operations, and organizational priorities.
Requirements:
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Leadership, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and willingness to learn about the business, not just the HR function.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Comfortable working with data and translating information into insights and recommendations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint and Excel.

ADM requires the successful completion of a background check.

$21 – $24 hourly rate is dependent on graduation date

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non‑exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.

The pay range for this position is expected to be between:
