Job summary

Union Home Mortgage Corp. invites applications for its L.E.A.D Internship Program in Strongsville, Ohio.

The Human Resources Intern will support the HR team in daily tasks, learn across departments, and gain exposure to talent processes while participating in a 3-month, 40-hour/week summer experience. Interns are treated like full-time Partners, receive compensation, and work at the headquarters in Strongsville.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a 2-year or 4-year degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Sophomore, Junior or Senior standing.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm, self-starter attitude, and ability to work in groups or independently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic HRIS familiarity.

Responsibilities

  • Manages new partner files including drug screening, background checks, orientation packets and other paperwork.
  • Updates the HRIS (Paycom) web content.
  • Helps with the performance management system.
  • Assists with benefit administration.
  • Assists with quarterly reports and employee relation work.
  • Participates in audits of employee paperwork.

Union Home Mortgage’s L.E.A.D Internship Program’s goal is to provide a fun, interesting, and real-world environment for our interns to Learn about the industry, be Educated by Sr. Leadership and their peers, Achieve their personal goals and Develop their skills and knowledge base. We pride ourselves in providing innovative programs for our interns in order for them to learn and grow they progress through their careers. Some of the programs we offer include: shadowing, mentoring, professional development, group projects and we even take our interns on corporate outings! Our internship program gives students a chance to meet new people, gain more experience, and learn from the best in the business! Our interns are treated like full-time Partners who work 40 hours a week during the 3-month summer program, are compensated, and based out of headquarters in Strongsville, Ohio.

The Human Resources Intern will spend their time assisting in the management and administration of HR related tasks while receiving a comprehensive learning experience of the different areas within the department.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manages new partner files including drug screening, background checks, orientation packets and other necessary paperwork
  • Updates the HRIS (Paycom) web content
  • Helps with the performance management system
  • Assists with benefit administration
  • Assists with quarterly reportsEmployee relation work including investigations and timecard upkeep
  • Participation in frequent audits of employee paperwork
