The Cincinnati Center City Development Corporation (3CDC) is seeking a Human Resources Intern to support the HR team with recruiting, onboarding, employee engagement, HR administration, and special projects. This part-time, fully onsite internship offers hands-on experience in a dynamic nonprofit organization and exposure to the employee lifecycle at the Walnut Street Office.

Responsibilities

  • Support recruiting efforts through ATS management, candidate outreach, and interview scheduling.
  • Greet and direct visitors at the Walnut Street Office, including board members, city officials, employees, tenants, and prospective partners.
  • Assist with onboarding activities and HR related projects.
  • Maintain employee records and assist with HRIS updates, including personnel files and employment lifecycle documentation.
  • Respond to routine inquiries from applicants and employees, directing complex or sensitive matters to HR team members.
  • Help organize employee engagement events and support HR communications.
  • Perform general office duties such as meeting room preparation and office supply inventory.

Job Summary

The Human Resources Intern supports the HR team through a variety of administrative, operational, and employee‑focused activities while gaining meaningful, hands‑on experience in the Human Resources field. This role will have the opportunity to contribute to recruiting, onboarding, employee engagement, HR administration, and special projects, gaining exposure to the day‑to‑day operations of a dynamic nonprofit organization. Working alongside HR professionals, the intern will develop practical workplace skills, learn HR best practices, and gain insight into the employee lifecycle. This is a part‑time, fully onsite internship with flexible scheduling to accommodate academic commitments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support recruiting efforts through ATS (Applicant Tracking System) management, candidate outreach, and interview scheduling.
  • Greet and direct visitors who visit or call the Walnut Street Office, including 3CDC Board members, city officials, employees, tenants, and prospective partners.
  • Assist with onboarding activities and HR related projects.
  • Maintain employee records and assist with HRIS updates, including personnel files and employment lifecycle documentation.
  • Respond to routine inquiries from applicants and employees, directing complex or sensitive matters to appropriate HR team members.
  • Help organize employee engagement events and support HR communications.
  • Perform general office duties such as meeting room preparation, office supply inventory, and other administrative duties as needed.

Physical and Mental Demands
  • Frequently required to sit at a desk/workstation for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer, keyboard, and other office equipment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with employees, candidates, and external contacts in person, by phone, and via email.
