This is a hands-on leadership position that balances technical accounting responsibilities with staff supervision, operational support, and continuous process improvement. The Accounting Manager works closely with operational teams, helping ensure financial activity is accurately reflected in the accounting records while identifying opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls, and enhance the quality of financial information.

  • Work closely with operational leaders and staff to ensure financial results accurately reflect business activity.

  • Identify significant variances, investigate underlying causes, and communicate findings to management.

  • Support the annual budgeting process and other financial planning activities for assigned departments.

  • Own assigned portions of the month-end close process, ensuring financial results are accurate, complete, and delivered on time.

  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, supporting schedules, and other accounting workpapers.

  • Ensure financial transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP, organizational accounting policies, and established internal controls.

  • Maintain accurate accounting records and support the preparation of internal financial reporting used by management.

  • Investigate accounting issues, unusual transactions, and reconciliation differences, resolving issues independently when appropriate and escalating more complex matters as needed.

Process Improvement & Support

  • Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and consistency of accounting processes and workflows.

  • Recommend and assist in implementing process improvements and standardized procedures across assigned areas.

  • Support enhancements to accounting systems and business processes in coordination with the Accounting Director and other departments.
