Job description

About our Organization:

Our company operates two distinct business lines under one organization: a membership organization supporting independent distributors in the promotional products industry, and a multi-location retail division running campus-based stores embedded in college and university locations across the U.S. This role will work cross-functionally across both business lines, requiring comfort navigating two different operating models; B2B membership services and multi-location brick-and-mortar retail, within a single HR function.

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and collaborative HR Generalist to support our multi-division operations across the U.S. This position partners closely with the EVP of Operations & Organizational Development to provide day-to-day HR support and administration, ensuring continuity across employee lifecycle processes, compliance tracking, and our HRIS.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative HR professional who can operate independently on day-to-day HR administration, provide policy guidance to managers, and contribute to a positive employee experience across the divisions, while partnering with the EVP of Operations on complex employee relations and multi-state compliance matters.

  • Maintain employee records and ensure accurate documentation in BambooHR.
  • Assist with employee communications, policy distribution, and routine HR updates.
  • Support managers with coaching and performance improvement conversations, escalating higher-risk matters to the EVP of Operations.
  • Assist in documenting employee relations matters accurately and confidentially.
Payroll & Benefits Support
  • Coordinate with the payroll provider to ensure accurate employee status updates, deductions, and timekeeping records.
  • Support benefits administration including enrollments, terminations, qualifying events, and provider communication.
  • Assist employees with benefit questions and elevate complex issues to the EVP of Operations as needed.
Compliance & HR Processes
  • Support multi-state and federal compliance efforts; including I-9 processing, required state/federal postings, background checks, and state-specific documentation.
  • Assist with policy adherence and provide operational support for employee relations documentation.
  • Flag compliance gaps or emerging state requirements to the EVP of Operations for review.
  • Maintain HRIS data integrity in BambooHR.
  • Generate HR reports as needed.
  • Identify process gaps and recommend improvements for efficiency.
Recruiting & Staffing Support
  • Partner with hiring managers on open roles.
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for non-executive positions as needed, including communication with the hiring manager, writing job descriptions and posting jobs online.
  • Coordinate and/or conduct interviews and lead the pre-employment processes.
  • Participate in and support workforce planning discussions.
