Job summary

The Macomb Group in Sterling Heights, MI is seeking a Full-Time HR Generalist to support payroll processing, audits, and day-to-day people operations, bridging administrative tasks with strategic HR initiatives.

You will manage bi-weekly payroll, maintain personnel files, keep HRIS data accurate, and serve as the main point of contact for employees and managers regarding pay, benefits, and policy questions. Hybrid work is available after training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, finance, or equivalent preferred.
• At least 2 years of HR Generalist or payroll experience.
• Experience with Paycor or similar HRIS systems.
• Knowledge of HR policies and compliance requirements.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Job description

The Macomb Group is in search of a Full-Time HR Generalist to support our corporate operations and growing workforce. This individual will primarily oversee the accurate processing of our bi-weekly payrolls, assist with our yearly compliance audits, and be a core point of contact for employees and managers. This role bridges daily administrative tasks with strategic people operations, and a positive workplace culture. Responsibilities

• Manage and support accurate payroll processing.
• Assist with annual HR audits.
• Maintain personnel files and payroll archives to ensure total compliance with federal and state labor laws.
• Maintain and update the HRIS system to ensure data integrity and absolute confidentiality.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding pay, benefits, and HR policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, or equivalent preferred
• At least 2 years of related HR Generalist or Payroll administration experience
• Advanced proficiency in Paycor, or similar HRIS and strong Excel skills
• Knowledge of HR policies and compliance requirements
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organization skills.
• Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and high level of discretion with confidential data
• Motivated team player with excellent communication and organizational skills

Work Setting

Sterling Heights, MI

Monday - Friday, day shift

Hybrid schedule available for two days per week, upon successful completion of training period.
