Job summary

Pamal Broadcasting in Latham, NY is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to manage day-to-day HR operations across multiple companies. You will support benefits, onboarding, payroll, HRIS maintenance, and compliance, while working with ADP Workforce Now and a multi-line phone system.

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and numerical data handling.

Responsibilities

• Administer employee benefits, including reporting changes and enrolling employees.
• Partner with employees and management regarding HR policies, procedures and compliance.
• Maintain accurate HRIS and employee records including payroll changes and terminations.
• Assist with weekly and biweekly payroll processing for multiple locations.
• Assist with onboarding through ADP Workforce Now and ensure HRIS accuracy.
• Maintain organized employee documentation and confidential records.
• Complete agency reporting including surveys and PFL/OES.
• Process COBRA and other separation notices as required.
• Verify Form I-9 documentation through E-Verify.
• Support day-to-day HR admin across multiple companies.

We are looking for someone who brings a solid HR foundation, who can step into the role with minimal training, work independently, and take ownership of day-to-day responsibilities. Candidates should be comfortable working with both HR technology and traditional office systems, including a multi-line telephone system. Strong documentation, organization, accuracy, and follow-through are essential. This position reports to the Director of Human Resources.

We are a small, busy office supporting multiple companies, so there is always something to do and something to learn. The HR Generalist plays an essential role supporting the Companies owned by the Morrell Family including: Pamal Broadcasting, Destination Nissan, Destination Kia, Destination Kia of Utica, Holiday Inn Express, and ABC Sports and Fitness.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Administer employee benefits, including reporting changes, enrolling employees in company benefit programs, communicating benefit information, and reconciling and approving benefits invoices for payment.
• Partner with employees and management regarding HR policies, procedures, employment regulations, employee relations, and HR compliance.
• Maintain accurate HRIS and employee records, including new hires, payroll changes, terminations, promotions, transfers, tax exemptions, direct deposit, garnishments, and liens.
• Assist with weekly and biweekly payroll processing for multiple locations.
• Assist with and Manage the new-hire onboarding process through ADP Workforce Now, including employee setup, required documentation, payroll and benefits information, and accurate HRIS record maintenance.
• Maintain accurate and organized employee documentation and paper personnel files, ensuring records are complete, current, confidential, and easily retrievable.
• Manage HR documentation and filing with a high level of accuracy, organization, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
• Complete required agency reporting, including annual surveys, disability, PFL, and OES reporting.
• Process COBRA notifications and other required employee separation notices.
• Verify Form I-9 documentation through E-Verify.
• Verify driving records for employees who work at the at the dealerships.
• Provide day-to-day Human Resources administrative support across multiple companies and locations.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on Human Resources experience in an HR Generalist or similar role.
• Familiar working with Adobe Acrobat is a plus.
• Prior experience with ADP Workforce Now or comparable HRIS/payroll software is a plus.
• Experience with employee onboarding, new-hire processing, payroll, benefits administration, HRIS administration, employee records, and HR compliance.
• Excellent documentation, records management, and filing skills, including experience maintaining organized paper-based employee and personnel files.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with spreadsheets, reconciliations, and numerical data.
• Strong mathematical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and take ownership of responsibilities with minimal training and supervision.
• Comfortable using a multi-line office telephone system and handling professional employee and business calls.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive employee and company information.
