Job summary

TVS SCS North America seeks a Human Resources Generalist to coordinate daily HR functions including employee relations, benefits administration, talent acquisition and training. The role partners with site leaders on health, safety and employment law compliance, and reports to the HR Director.

Required is a bachelor’s degree in HR or related field and 2+ years of HR management experience; SHRM-CP or PHR preferred. Full-time role based in Iowa City, IA with travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily human resources functions including employee relations, benefits, talent acquisition and management.
  • Provide coaching to site leaders in health, safety and employment law compliance.
  • Assist with reports, metrics and recruitment efforts; support onboarding and 30/60/90 evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and update policies as needed.

Summary

The Human Resources Generalist position is responsible for coordinating daily human resources functions including, but not limited to , employee relations, benefits administration, talent acquisition and management, training, coaching site leaders in areas of health, safety and employment law compliance. Serves as a consultant and partner to management on all human resource-related topics. This position reports to the HR Director .

Essential Functions

  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programsincluding , but not limited to , compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries and escalates as needed.
  • Attends and actively participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions) .
  • Conduct exit interviews and manage off-boarding process for terminated employees .
  • Assists in creating and analysing reports, metrics, and results of department in relation to established goals .
  • Supports local recruitment efforts, as needed, in conjunction with the Talent Acquisition team.
  • Assists with new hire orientation, onboarding and 30, 60, 90 evaluation process.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources , Business Administration, or related field required .
  • 2+ years of human resource management experience
  • SHRM-CP or PHR , preferred

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that an employee must meet to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, sit, stand, and walk. Walking up to 30 minutes consistently in a non- temperature-controlled production environment is required . Requires good hand/eye coordination. May lift to 20lbs on occasion.

This job is performed in an office environment with occasional exposure to a non- temperature-controlled warehouse environment. The employee is occasionally exposed to high forklift traffic. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, scanners and photocopiers. Steel-toed shoes and vests are required P ersonal P rotective E quipment (PPE) when in the warehouse .

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Full Time . Schedule flexibility for extended or unplanned work hours is required .
