Job Description
The HR Generalist provides comprehensive HR support to employees and leadership in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, performance management, HR compliance, training and maintaining accurate employee records.
- Serve as a primary HR resource for employees and supervisors.
- Address employee questions, concerns, and workplace issues professionally and promptly.
- Conduct employee investigations and document findings.
- Assist with disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, and terminations.
- Promote positive employee relations and a respectful workplace culture.
- Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee and company information.
- Coordinate recruiting activities for hourly and salaried positions.
- Screen candidates and coordinate interviews with hiring managers.
- Conduct background checks, pre-employee requirements, and new-hire paperwork.
- Facilitate new-hire orientation and onboarding.
- Monitor attendance and assist leaders with consistent application of attendance policies.
- Administer and track applicable leave programs in coordination with HR leadership.
- Maintain accurate leave and attendance documentation.
- Assist employees with benefit questions and enrollment processes.
- Maintain accurate employee information and personnel files.
- Process HR transactions and maintain HRIS records.
- Assist with payroll-related HR inquiries and employee changes.
- Support employee recognition, engagement, and retention programs.
- Participate in employee meetings, events, and engagement initiatives.
- Conduct or assist with stay interviews and employee feedback activities.
- Identify trends and recommend opportunities to improve employee satisfaction and retention.
- Provide HR support on the production floor.
- Support a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Work effectively in a 24/7 or shift-based manufacturing environment, as applicable.
- Back up to HR Coordinator / Back up to HR Manager.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field. Additional related work experience will be considered in lieu of the education requirement.
- SHRM/PHR certified preferred
- Minimum of 5 years progressive HR experience
- Experience supporting hourly manufacturing employees
- Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Experience recruiting, onboarding and leave administration
- Experience with employee investigations and corrective actions
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive employee matters
- Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with HRIS, Microsoft Office, and related HR systems

Physical/Work Environment:
This position may require regular movement throughout a manufacturing facility and interaction with employees working in production areas. The HR Generalist must be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment and following all applicable safety requirements and PPE guidelines.
