Job summary

Plasman is seeking a Human Resources Generalist in Greer, SC. The role supports the HR Manager across benefits administration, recruiting, policy implementation, reporting and employee relations, while maintaining HRIS records and payroll processes.

You will lead training, performance management, and compliance with employment laws, contributing to a collaborative, high‑performing HR team. The position emphasizes policy guidance, benefits oversight, safety coordination, and strong stakeholder

Qualifications

  • Post secondary education in a Human Resources related field (CHRP, PHR or SHRM-CP certificate is desirable)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a human resource role with a broad understanding of all HR facets
  • Familiarity with and ability to research, interpret and apply employment legislation
  • Demonstrates a high level of integrity, trust and composure and is approachable by all levels of the organization
  • Strong data analysis and research skills, decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Strong conflict resolution, skills
  • Strong planning skills with proven ability to implement

Responsibilities

  • Under minimal direction, assisting and supporting the HR Manager in all facets of human resources, including benefits administration, recruiting, policy implementation, reporting of information, employee relations and training
  • Develop and provide recommendations for updates to policies, procedures and work instructions specific to the department and role
  • Advise employee and management personnel on the interpretation of personnel policies, programs and procedures, and ensure all programs are carried out in accordance with company expectations
  • Analyze and provide advice to employees, supervisors, and managers on methods and approaches to resolve employee relation issues
  • Recommend, develop and maintain an accurate HRIS, including employee personnel files and relevant electronic data files
  • Oversee accurate completion of daily time sheets reporting, auditing and completion of weekly payroll and associated tasks
  • Oversee effective claims management including investigation of incidents, completion of required forms; support and conduct internal investigations
  • Administer all employee benefits, including health, life insurance, and group registered pension plans monthly; ensure records are kept and manage billing
  • Coordinate and maintain training needs and records and provide training as required
  • Coordinate and maintain an effective performance management system including job descriptions, performance discussions, and evaluations
  • Coach managers and supervisors in managing employee performance and deliver corrective actions
  • Coordinate and maintain vacation time and other paid time off records
  • Manage attendance and disciplinary actions; report on statistics
  • Conduct recruitment and selection for internal and external positions
  • Build relationships with employment agencies and educational institutions to aid recruitment
  • Conduct new employee orientation and ensure documentation and benefits are managed
  • Manage salary structure, position documentation, and audits on payroll and HRIS tools
  • Provide consultation on compensation issues and market pricing
  • Support Health and Safety with the team
  • Conduct exit interviews and recommend improvements
  • Contribute as project leader or team member on HR initiatives
  • Develop and implement continuous improvements to HR systems, policies and procedures
  • Provide guidance to junior department members and administrative staff

Human Resources Generalist



  • Under minimal direction, assisting and supporting the HR Manager in all facets of human resources, including benefits administration, recruiting, policy implementation, reporting of information, employee relations and training.


  • Develop and provide recommendations for updates to policies, procedures and work instructions specific to the department and role.


  • Advise employee and management personnel on the interpretation of personnel policies, programs and procedures, and ensure all programs are carried out in accordance with company expectations.


  • Analyze and provide advice to employees, supervisors, and managers on methods and approaches to resolve employee relation issues (i.e. employee complaints, harassment allegations, etc.)


  • Recommend, develop and maintain an accurate HRIS, including employee personnel files and relevant electronic data files.


  • Oversee accurate completion of daily time sheets reporting, auditing and completion of weekly payroll and associated tasks.


  • Oversee effective claims management including investigation of incidents, completion of required forms. Support and conduct internal investigations, incident / accidents / near misses, and complete proper reporting as required.


  • Administer all employee benefits, including health, life insurance, and group registered pension plans monthly. Ensure accurate records are kept, and manage billing for all external providers, verifying charges and updating discrepancies.


  • Coordinate and maintain training needs and records and provide training as required. Support all coordination of travel required for employees to attend approved training.


  • Coordinate and maintain an effective performance management system including job descriptions, performance discussions, and performance evaluations. Ensure employees, supervisors and managers are working within the established Performance Management Program to document goals, objectives and progress.


  • Coach managers and supervisors in managing employee performance; provide support in guiding team through appropriate documentation of events, how to counsel employees and deliver corrective actions effectively.


  • Coordinate and maintain all employee vacation time and other paid time off records.


  • Manage employee absenteeism and attendance program, issue corrective disciplinary action as required, report on statistics. Consult on high level attendance management cases with departmental and HR manager.


  • Conduct recruitment and selection effort for all internal and external available positions


  • Build and sustain beneficial relationships with employment agencies and educational institutions to aid in the recruitment effort; support management and scheduling of all agency employees as required, working within the HR team, and individual departments, supervisors and management.


  • Conduct new employee orientation and ensure all documentation is processed and benefits are managed accordingly as changes occur to the employee's employment status.


  • Manage salary structure, position documentation, and conduct regular audits on payroll and HRIS related tools and systems.


  • Provide consultation on compensation issues such as changes to job descriptions, job design, market pricing and internal equity issues.


  • Support all aspects of Health and Safety, working in conjunction with the Health and Safety team members, and the Health and Safety Committee.


  • Conduct exit interviews, analyze data, and make recommendations to management for corrective action and continuous improvement.


  • Contribute as project leader or team member on various department and business initiatives.


  • Develop and implement continuous improvements to human resources systems, policies and procedures,


  • Provide guidance and support to junior members of the department including administrative support roles and students.



QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Post secondary education in a Human Resources related field (CHRP, PHR or SHRM-CP certificate is desirable), or a combination of equivalent relevant work experience and training will be considered.


  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a human resource role, with a broad understanding of all HR facets


  • Familiarity with and ability to research, interpret and apply employment legislation


  • Demonstrated work knowledge of multiple human resource areas preferred


  • Demonstrates a high level of integrity, trust and composure and viewed as approachable by all levels of the organization.




  • Strong data analysis and research skills, decision making and problem-solving skills.


  • Strong conflict resolution, skills


  • Strong planning skills with proven ability to implement.
