Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of related HR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

Under the direction of the VP Human Resources (VPHR), the Human Resources Specialist, Operations ensures the YGS HR department is functioning at its highest ability with strong systems and processes for iterative improvement. The HR Specialist collaborates with members of HRLT to ensure new and revised HR systems, processes, and practices are flowing smoothly, are clearly communicated to internal and external stakeholders and are completed on schedule. Manages HR MOS implementation and collaborates with VPHR to build and implement the annual HR budget.

Hourly Rate: $34/hour

Responsibilities
  1. Collaborates with HR teams and IS Professional Services team to map, organize and iterate workflows/processes in all HR areas including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, data entry and records management, benefits/compensation, retention, recognition, corrective action, and performance management.
  2. Builds, maintains, and monitors a yearly calendar (MOS) of all tasks in all HR areas.
  3. Responsible for flagging and communicating issues and upcoming deadlines to appropriate staff.
  4. Project manages major HR annual processes that integrate multiple HR teams, including Annual Refresher training, Goal Setting, Mid-Year Coaching, Annual Reviews, Benefit Open Enrollment, Annual Engagement Survey.
  5. Manages data analysis and reporting from HR programs for strategic planning and stakeholder review.
  6. Leads annual review of HR processes, procedures, and practices.
  7. Leads responses to and implementation of YGS, Y-USA, State of Washington and King County membership and reporting programs.
  8. Manages primary approvals for Accounts Payable actions in designated platform.
  9. Maintain the HR portion of the company Intranet site and publish a monthly HR Newsletter to ensure clarity for the organization.
  10. Monitors the HR Processing email, collects and distributes mail.
  11. Organization and coordination of HR team meetings or events.
  12. Maintain the confidentiality of all personnel records, payroll records, personnel-related correspondence and conversations.
  13. Assist in maintaining department budget and expense reconciliations.
  14. Manage employee verification, service award and ORCA programs and processes.
  15. Provides high-level administrative management to HRVP when needed. Manages and attends Human Resources Committee Meetings, Including Human Resources Board Committee Meetings
  16. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years or more of related experience.
  • High degree of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Ability to juggle multiple competing priorities, work independently and with a team.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite, (e.g., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of and previous experience with diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc).
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Human Resources experience preferred.
  • Previous experience with HRIS system preferred.
