Job summary

Randstad USA is seeking an HR Generalist for our global food manufacturing client in Eau Claire, WI. This 1-Year Contract role requires flexible, day-to-day operations support across all shifts on a 24/7 facility.

You will serve as a trusted, on-site resource, assisting with employee relations, onboarding, and compliance while partnering with leaders to foster a safe, inclusive environment for all production shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Human Resources, HR Operations, or Employee Relations role.
• Strong knowledge of key employment laws (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO).
• High emotional intelligence with the ability to maintain confidentiality and communicate clearly with diverse teams.
• Proficiency with standard office software and HR systems.
• Flexibility to occasionally adjust work hours to support non-standard shifts and 24/7 factory needs.

Responsibilities

• Walk the production floor daily to build trust, answer questions, and resolve concerns fairly.
• Assist with union grievance preparation and interpret collective bargaining agreements.
• Coordinate recruitment for hourly and salaried roles and conduct new hire orientations.
• Maintain accurate employee records in HR systems and guide leave/timekeeping policies.
• Track attendance and retention trends to suggest improvements.

Job Type: 1-Year Contract (with potential for extension)

Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday (Approx. 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM)

Note on Schedule: This role supports a 24/7 manufacturing facility. While your core hours are during the day, you must be open to flexing your schedule -including early mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, or holidays to handle urgent employee issues, site events, or shift coverage.

As an HR Generalist, you will serve as a trusted, visible resource on the factory floor. You will support daily operations, resolve workplace concerns, help manage union relations, and foster a safe, inclusive environment for all production shifts.

Responsibilities

• Floor Presence & Relations: Walk the production floor daily to build trust, answer employee questions early, and resolve workplace or policy concerns fairly.
• Labor & Employee Support: Assist with union grievance preparation, interpret collective bargaining agreements, and partner with leaders to draft corrective actions.
• Onboarding & Hiring: Coordinate recruitment efforts for hourly and salaried roles, conduct new hire orientations, and ensure a seamless candidate experience.
• Compliance & Operations: Maintain accurate employee records in HR systems, guide staff on leave and timekeeping policies, and ensure compliance with employment laws.
• Continuous Improvement: Track workplace trends in attendance and retention to recommend simple, practical ways to improve the overall employee experience.

Qualifications

Must-haves:

• Proven experience in a Human Resources, HR Operations, or Employee Relations role.
• Strong knowledge of key employment laws (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO).
• High emotional intelligence with the ability to maintain confidentiality, stay calm under pressure, and communicate clearly with diverse teams.
• Proficiency with standard office software and comfort learning new HR systems.
• Flexibility to occasionally adjust your work hours to support non-standard shifts and 24/7 factory needs.

Nice-to-haves:

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Prior experience in a 24/7 manufacturing, supply chain, or CPG environment.
• Background working within a unionized workforce and supporting collective bargaining agreements.
• Hands-on experience with tools like SAP SuccessFactors, Kronos/UKG, or Indeavor.
