Job summary

Schurman Executive Recruiting is assisting a client seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist in New York. The role provides day-to-day HR support to employees and managers and helps with recruiting, benefits, leave administration, employee relations, HRIS, and policy interpretation.

The HR Generalist will partner with the HR team to maintain consistent practices, manage HR data, and help ensure a positive employee experience. Relocation assistance is offered for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive HR/Generalist experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with benefits, leave administration, and HRIS systems.
• Strong communication, organization, documentation, and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, support employee relations, and work in a fast-paced environment.

The Human Resources Generalist provides day-to-day HR support. This role serves as a resource for employees and managers and assists with recruiting, benefits, leave administration, employee relations, HRIS, and company policies. The HR Generalist works closely with the HR team to help ensure a positive employee experience and consistent HR practices.

Description and Responsibilities:

Our client is seeking an Human Resources Generalist. They are looking for a promotable leader who thrives at being a hands-on leader. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Manage day-to-day benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, qualifying events, and employee questions.
• Coordinate employee leaves, including FMLA, STD, PFL, and other leave requests, ensuring timely documentation and communication.
• Provide first-line HR support for employee relations matters, performance concerns, and corrective action.
• Partner with managers and employees to ensure consistent application of HR policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate HRIS records, monitor Paycom transactions, and assist with reporting, audits, and data cleanup.
• Identify HR trends and compliance issues, troubleshoot benefits/HRIS concerns, and elevate more complex matters to HR leadership.

Qualifications:

The qualified candidate will possess most of the following traits:

• 3+ years of progressive HR/Generalist experience preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience
• Experience with benefits, leave administration, and HRIS systems
• Strong communication, organization, documentation, and attention to detail
