Job summary

AVL Manufacturing USA in Charlotte, NC is seeking an HR Generalist to build the HR foundation at our new facility. You will support daily HR operations, onboarding, employee relations, payroll, and compliance in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Reporting to the HR Manager, you will handle roughly 800 employees, roll out HR programs, maintain records in the HRIS, and ensure adherence to NC and federal employment laws while collaborating across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field preferred.
• Minimum 4 years of HR experience.
• Knowledge of US employment law and compliance.

About the Role

Job Summary:As our HR Generalist, you'll play a hands-on role in building the HR foundation at our new AVL manufacturing facility. You'll support daily HR operations, employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, administration and compliance. This role demands a people-centric professional capable of helping build out the HR functions at the new facility and supporting the HR Manager in various duties. This role reports to the HR Manager.

Responsibilities

• Key Responsibilities:Support the full employee lifecycle
• Lead new hire onboarding and orientation
• Assist employee relations issues that may arise
• Administer timekeeping and attendance tracking
• Answer employee questions regarding policies, benefits, and payroll
• Maintain employee records for new hires, promotions, terminations, leave of absences, etc and ensure data integrity in HRIS system (ADP)
• Ensure compliance with labor laws (NC, federal) and internal policies
• Manage relationships with insurance, HRIS, etc.
• Help roll out HR projects, programs, and events

Qualifications

• Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related discipline preferred

Required Skills

• Minimum of 4 years of Human Resources experience
• Knowledge of US employment law and compliance laws
• Resourceful, innovative, and persuasive.
• Flexibility to quickly shift priorities and juggle simultaneous requirements.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to operate effectively tactically in support of short- and long-term business priorities.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration and adaptability are important
• Effective time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in an industrial and/or manufacturing, and/or construction environment is considered an asset
• Knowledge of ADP is an asset
