Human Resources Generalist

JOB SUMMARY
The Human Resources (HR) Generalist provides broad HR support to employees and leaders within the organization. The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: payroll, onboarding, recruitment/employment, HRIS management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs all in-house payroll procedures, such as entering automated payroll data, processing employee timesheets, preparing journal entries, maintaining employee tax deductions and exemptions and monitoring employee data files online, including medical leave, benefits, promotions and terminations, and processes payroll
- Recruits, interviews and selects qualified job applicants or refers them to managers, making hiring recommendations.
- Manage full-cycle recruitment by collaborating with hiring managers, posting job openings, sourcing candidates, and conducting initial phone screenings.
- Develops, maintains organization job descriptions and conducts FLSA testing.
- Facilitates job fairs on a regular basis to generate candidates.
- Assists in preparing and maintaining personnel records and handbooks.
- Maintains HR change notices, New/Term files
- Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Customer and Personal Service –Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
- English Language –Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
- Clerical –Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
- Personnel and Human Resources –Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems.
- Administration and Management –Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
- Bank Secrecy Act –In the performance of all the respective tasks and duties, employee will maintain knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act regulations and all other regulatory, security and bank policies and procedures.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field; or equivalent practical experience.
- Professional certification such as SHRM-CP or PHR preferred but not required.
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
