Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field; Master’s or HR certification preferred.
  • 3–5 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in public-sector, transportation, or aviation environments is desirable.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with the airport’s goals.

Job description

Position Summary:

The Human Resources Manager will lead and manage all HR functions at Montgomery Regional Airport, ensuring the development and implementation of HR strategies aligned with the airport’s operational and organizational goals. The HR Manager will serve as a key member of the leadership team, advising on matters related to workforce planning, employee relations, labor compliance, and organizational development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute human resource strategies that support the airport’s mission, strategic objectives, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee talent acquisition and retention strategies, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Serve as a liaison between management and employees, fostering a positive working environment and ensuring high levels of employee engagement and morale.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations (e.g., EEOC, ADA, FMLA, OSHA).
  • Administer and enhance compensation and benefits programs, including health, retirement, and wellness initiatives.
  • Lead and manage labor relations, including negotiations with unions and resolution of grievances, if applicable.
  • Develop and oversee employee training and development programs to promote professional growth and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain and update HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook.
  • Provide counsel to department heads on organizational design, staffing plans, and workforce issues.
  • Monitor HR metrics and prepare reports for senior leadership and the airport board.
  • Manage and supervise the HR team, ensuring professional development and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree or HR certification preferred).
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in a public-sector, transportation, or aviation environment is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices in the public and/or regulated sectors.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • HR certifications such as SHRM-SCP or SPHR are preferred.
Work Environment:
  • Office environment with occasional visits to airfield and operational areas.

May require occasional travel and work outside normal business hours.
