Job summary

The Chehalem Park and Recreation District is seeking an organized HR Director to lead the district's human resources functions, including benefits, payroll, and HRIS, in a public-service environment.

You will report to the Superintendent and work with a collaborative team in Oregon's wine country, overseeing a comprehensive pay plan, fully paid employee benefits, and opportunities to advance your HR career while serving the community.

Qualifications

• Experience managing benefits programs including healthcare and 401(k).
• Active SHRM-, SPHR, or PSHRP certification.
• Director I: 5+ years HR experience in local government.
• Director II: 9+ years HR experience in local government.

Responsibilities

• Lead HR programs and ensure accuracy and confidentiality.
• Oversee benefits, payroll, and HRIS in a local government setting.
• Coordinate with Superintendent and district leadership to ensure compliant HR operations.

Job Summary

The HR Director performs a wide range of professional and technical duties related to human resources functions in support of the District’s employees and operations while ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.

Desired Qualifications and Experience

• Experience managing benefits programs including, but not limited to, healthcare and 401(k) plans.
• Possess active SHRM-, SPHR, or PSHRA certification.
• Director I
• 5 or more years of professional experience in human resources within a local government setting.
• 5 or more years of experience administering a human resources information system in a local government setting.
• 5 or more years of experience administering a payroll information system including but not limited to Paychex or ADP.
• Director II
• 9 or more years of professional experience in human resources within a local government setting.
• 9 or more years of experience administering a human resources information system in a local government setting.
• 9 or more years of experience administering a payroll information system including but not limited to Paychex or ADP.

Employee Compensation and Benefits

Compensation is administered via the Chehalem Park and District’s Pay Plan. The most current version of the Pay Plan is available within the Personnel portion of the District’s adopted budget which is available online athttps://www.cprdnewberg.org/1516/BUDGET-INFORMATION .
