Job summary

Encompass Health, the nation’s largest inpatient rehabilitation provider, seeks a Human Resources Director to lead our people operations. You’ll ensure employees feel heard, cared for, and valued while shaping a high-quality, compassionate work environment across our hospitals.

This role requires strategic HR leadership, policy implementation, staff education, and partnership with hospital management to recruit and retain top talent in healthcare.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Personnel Administration, Hospital Administration, Business Administration, or related field is required. Work experience may substitute for a four-year degree on a year-for-year basis.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of Human Resources Management experience, preferably in healthcare.
• Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and/or SPHR certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and oversee all facets of the Human Resources department to ensure equitable treatment of all employees, in compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
• Foster an inclusive and productive work environment and culture.
• Implement employee programs, policies, and procedures.
• Serve as a liaison between Home Office HR and hospital management.
• Coordinate staff education programs, oversee workers' compensation program, and assist with benefits administration.
• Direct hospital recruitment and retention program to ensure availability of appropriate staffing resources.
• Celebrate the achievements and victories of our dedicated employees.
