Job summary

Encompass Health is seeking a Human Resources Director for our Jacksonville, FL facilities. Lead the HR function, ensure compliant, equitable practices, and foster a compassionate, collaborative work culture that supports patient care and employee growth.

You will oversee recruitment, benefits, education programs, and workers' compensation while partnering with hospital leadership and Home Office HR to align strategy with organizational goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field; substitution allowed with years of experience
• 3–5 years of HR management experience in healthcare
• PHR and/or SPHR certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and oversee all facets of the HR department to ensure equitable treatment and compliance with laws and policy.
• Foster an inclusive and productive work environment and culture.
• Implement employee programs, policies, and procedures.
• Serve as liaison between Home Office HR and hospital management.
• Coordinate staff education programs and oversee workers' compensation program.
• Assist with benefits administration.
• Direct hospital recruitment and retention programs to ensure staffing needs are met.
• Celebrate achievements and serve the team with support and guidance.

• Assume responsibility for fostering an inclusive and productive work environment and culture.

• Serve as a valuable resource to department managers and other employees, acting as the liaison between Home Office HR and hospital management.
• Coordinate staff education programs, oversee workers' compensation program, and assist with benefits administration.
• Direct hospital recruitment and retention program to ensure availability of appropriate staffing resources. Serve as a resource to department managers and other employees.
• Celebrate the achievements and victories of our dedicated employees along the way.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Personnel Administration, Hospital Administration, Business Administration, or a related field is required. Work experience may substitute for a four-year degree on a year-for-year basis.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of Human Resources Management experience, preferably in healthcare.
• Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and/or SPHR certification is preferred.
