The ideal candidate has healthcare HR leadership experience, preferably in a hospital or clinic, with strong employee relations, compliance, and talent development

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR or related field.
  • 3–7 years HR experience with leadership responsibility.
  • Healthcare HR experience preferred.
  • Experience in hospital/clinic HR is highly preferred.
  • Experience with Joint Commission compliance.
  • Experience with HRIS, Oracle HR a plus.

Green Key is partnering with a leading healthcare organization in Moberly, Missouri to identify an experienced Director of Human Resources to lead the HR function for a 99-bed hospital.

This is an excellent opportunity for an HR leader who enjoys being highly visible within an organization and partnering closely with executive leadership, managers, and employees. The HR Director will oversee the full scope of HR operations while serving as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to hospital leadership.

About the Opportunity

This position will have dedicated HR leadership responsibility for the Moberly location. The HR Director will play an important role in strengthening HR operations, supporting leaders, managing employee relations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and developing talent strategies that support the hospital's goals.

The ideal candidate will have healthcare HR experience, preferably within a hospital or clinic environment, along with demonstrated HR leadership experience. Candidates coming from medical device, pharmaceutical, laboratory services, or large physician practice environments may also be considered if they have strong, relevant HR leadership experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the HR function and serve as a strategic partner to hospital leadership and employees.
  • Develop and execute HR strategies that align with organizational and operational goals.
  • Partner with the C‑Suite and department leaders on workforce planning, employee engagement, retention, and organizational development.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to managers on employee relations, performance management, workplace concerns, and HR policies.
  • Lead and conduct employee relations investigations and recommend appropriate courses of action.
  • Oversee talent acquisition, staffing, onboarding, retention, and workforce planning initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state employment laws and healthcare regulations.
  • Maintain readiness for Joint Commission (JCAHO/Joint Commission) audits and accreditation requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Analyze HR metrics and workforce data to identify trends and make recommendations to leadership.
  • Partner with leadership on compensation, benefits, employee development, succession planning, and retention strategies.
  • Support organizational change initiatives and process improvements.
  • Oversee HR systems and processes, including the organization's Oracle HR platform.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, systems, and overall employee experience.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and organizational information.
  • Stay current on employment laws, healthcare HR trends, and industry best practices.
  • Lead and develop HR staff while promoting a collaborative, accountable, and positive work environment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Approximately 3–7 years of progressive HR experience, with demonstrated leadership responsibility.
  • Healthcare HR experience is strongly preferred and is an important qualification for this position.
  • Candidates with hospital or clinic HR experience are highly preferred.
  • Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, laboratory services, or a large physician practice environment may also be considered.
  • Demonstrated HR leadership experience with the ability to advise and influence managers and senior leadership.
  • Strong employee relations and investigation experience, including performance‑related issues.
  • Experience preparing for and supporting Joint Commission/JCAHO compliance and audits.
  • Strong understanding of HR policies, employment regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with HRIS systems; Oracle HR experience is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong judgment, discretion, and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively partnering with leadership and cross‑functional teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
