AP Rochester is seeking a Human Resources Director to provide strategic leadership across all HR functions, partnering with executive leadership to align people initiatives with business objectives.

You will oversee talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, employee relations, compliance, organizational development, succession planning, and culture stewardship, driving workforce planning and topgrading initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 8–10+ years HR leadership experience.
  • Proven ability to partner with senior leadership on strategy and workforce planning.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws and HR compliance.
  • Advanced computer skills: HRIS/HCM systems and reporting.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • SHRM-SCP or SPHR preferred.
  • Experience with Topgrading and DiSC assessments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct all Human Resources programs, policies, and strategic initiatives.
  • Develop and implement workforce planning and talent acquisition strategies, including full-cycle recruitment and Topgrading methodologies.
  • Oversee compensation, benefits, retention, and employee engagement programs.
  • Manage complex employee relations matters, performance issues, and workplace investigations.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, regulatory requirements, and HR best-practice standards.
  • Partner with executive leadership on organizational design, succession planning, change management, and culture development.
  • Champion the use of Topgrading and DiSC assessments to strengthen hiring and leadership development.
  • Oversee HRIS systems, HR metrics, reporting, budgets, and vendor relationships.
  • Lead organizational development initiatives that enhance performance and retention.

Qualifications

  • 8-10+ years of progressive HR experience, including significant leadership responsibility.
  • Demonstrated success partnering with senior leadership on organizational strategy and workforce planning.
  • Strong working knowledge of labor and employment laws and practical HR application.
  • Advanced computer skills, including HCM systems, HRIS platforms, and reporting tools.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
  • SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent senior-level HR certification preferred.
  • Experience with Topgrading and DiSC assessment tools preferred.
