Job summary

Encompass Health is seeking a Human Resources Director who will lead and shape the HR function across our hospital network. You will ensure compliant, equitable treatment for all employees, drive inclusive culture, and implement programs and policies that support a compassionate workplace.

You will coordinate education, manage benefits and workers’ compensation, and oversee recruitment and retention to ensure adequate staffing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; work experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis.
• 3–5 years of Human Resources Management experience, preferably in healthcare.
• PHR and/or SPHR certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and oversee all facets of the HR department to ensure equitable treatment and legal compliance.
• Foster an inclusive and productive work environment and culture.
• Implement employee programs, policies, and procedures.
• Serve as liaison between Home Office HR and hospital management.
• Coordinate staff education programs and oversee workers’ compensation and benefits administration.
• Direct hospital recruitment and retention programs and support staffing resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Personnel Administration, Hospital Administration, Business Administration, or a related field is required. Work experience may substitute for a four‑year degree on a year‑for‑year basis.
• A minimum of 3‑5 years of Human Resources Management experience, preferably in healthcare.
• Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and/or SPHR certification is preferred.
