Job summary

Encompass Health in Albuquerque, NM seeks a seasoned Human Resources Director to lead our HR team within a national inpatient rehabilitation system. You will shape people programs, foster an inclusive, high‑performing culture, and align HR initiatives with patient‑centered care.

Responsibilities include planning and overseeing recruitment, benefits administration, staff education, and ensuring legal compliance while partnering with hospital leadership to support employees and drive

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required (or substitution via experience).
• 3–5 years of Human Resources Management experience, preferably in healthcare.
• PHR and/or SPHR certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and oversee all facets of the HR department to ensure equitable treatment and legal compliance.
• Foster an inclusive and productive work environment and culture.
• Implement employee programs, policies, and procedures.
• Serve as liaison between Home Office HR and hospital management for managers and staff.
• Coordinate staff education programs, oversee workers' compensation, and assist with benefits administration.
• Direct hospital recruitment and retention programs to ensure staffing resources and celebrate achievements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Personnel Administration, Hospital Administration, Business Administration, or a related field is required. Work experience may substitute for a four‑year degree on a year‑for‑year basis.
• A minimum of 3‑5 years of Human Resources Management experience, preferably in healthcare.
• Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and/or SPHR certification is preferred.
