Summary

The Human Resources Coordinator provides assistance and facilitates the human resource process for the organization. The position assists with the hiring process, follows up with employees during their orientation and training, and acts as a liaison between employees and vendors. This role supports the payroll process under the direction of HR management, assisting with preparation, entry, and verification of timekeeping and payroll data. This role also provides administrative support to the HR function in recordkeeping, maintaining files, compiling reports, and other related activities.

Job Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to
  • Respond to internal and external HR-related inquiries or requests and provide guidance.
  • Supports the recruitment process by handling employment application intake, assisting in screening resumes and applications, scheduling interviews, communicating with candidates, etc.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Assist with the preparation and entry of payroll-related information, such as deductions, withholdings, and benefit contributions, and help verify this data for accuracy prior to processing.
  • Help research and resolve timekeeping or payroll discrepancies, respond to routine employee inquiries regarding hours and pay, and elevate complex matters to the Human Resources Supervisor as needed.
  • Maintain confidential payroll files and assist in compiling payroll-related reports and summaries to support management and audit needs.
  • Enter and maintain employee and timekeeping data in the organization’s HRIS and payroll system (Ceridian Dayforce), ensuring records are accurate and up to date to support HR and payroll functions.
  • Assist in the administration of benefits, including health insurance, leave policies, and other employee benefit programs.
  • Coordinate training sessions and seminars as needed.
  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of HR-related communications.
  • Assist with various audits as needed.
  • Performs other duties as instructed or assigned.

Education and/or Experience

A high school diploma or equivalent preferred; plus, two or more years related experience; or any equivalent combination of formal training and/or experience which provided the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities thereof.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business data and effectively respond to the data. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from vendors, customers, employees, or others involved or associated in the warehouse section function.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to work with mathematical concepts relevant to the role such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. General knowledge of basic accounting a plus.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

A valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one.

Other Skills and Abilities:

Knowledgeable in use of computer software applications customarily used in the job function at an appropriate proficiency level. Proficiency with spreadsheet software and familiarity with payroll and timekeeping systems is preferred; experience with Ceridian Dayforce is a strong plus. Must be able to handle confidential payroll and employee information with discretion, and demonstrate strong attention to detail and the ability to meet recurring payroll deadlines.

Working Conditions
