The Human Resources (HR) Coordinator is responsible for managing systems and people and collaborating with other department teams to execute the daily functions of the HR Department. This role has a specialized focus on the recruitment and onboarding phases in the lifecycle of an employee and must balance the needs of HR to ensure all recruitment and hiring is timely, efficient, and compliant with all applicable laws.
Supervisory Responsibility
This employee will indirectly supervise all employees regarding HR matters and provide oversight into collaborative efforts where such efforts augment the function of the HR Department.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate full-cycle recruiting activities, including processing Requests to Hire, creating job requisitions, screening applications, administering pre-employment assessments, scheduling interviews, and managing candidate communications.
- Facilitate onboarding activities to ensure a positive new hire experience, including completion of required documentation, I-9 and E-Verify compliance, background checks, drug screenings, HRIS setup, orientation, and assimilation activities.
- Ensure new hires receive required equipment, system access, adequate workspace accommodations, and information regarding company policies, handbooks, and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, including personnel and I-9 files, in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as a resource for employees, applicants, and supervisors by responding to routine employment-related inquiries and escalating complex matters to the HR Director as appropriate.
- Support in the administration of HR programs and processes, including employee status changes, compensation and benefits, leave management, performance management, employee recognition initiatives, and training and development activities.
- Monitor, track, and document employee compliance with required training, certifications, professional licenses, continuing education, and other organizational requirements.
- Support the administration and maintenance of the HRIS and employee development platforms, including training new employees in system usage.
- Coordinate annual HR initiatives and events, including Open Enrollment and the Annual Meeting, in partnership with the HR team.
- Assist with employment lifecycle activities, including hiring, onboarding, transfers, promotions, and separations.
- Other relevant duties as appropriate and assigned.

- Proficient in ministry systems and digital tools (CCB, LEADR, PCO, HRIS, Microsoft 365, etc.) to coordinate and track outcomes.

- Proficient with or the ability to quickly become proficient with HCM.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly become proficient with organization's people development software.
- Basic knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations (can be acquired via OTJT).
- Compliant with Life Center's Policies and Practices, including but not limited to Employee Handbook and Safety Manual.
Education, Experience, Certifications and Licensure
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience in business setting; Bachelor's degree a plus.
- At least one year experience in human resources, business, or church management.
- SHRM-CP or HRMP-Certificate, a plus
Physical Demands
- Stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time as required by job.
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- Bend, stoop, kneel, or crouch to perform tasks in various environments.
- Ability to talk and hear, reach, and grasp, see and adjust visual focus.
- Must be able to communicate with people both over the phone and in person.
Work Environment and Travel
- This job operates in a professional office and ministry environment.
- This role routinely interacts with staff, volunteers, and guests.
- The primary campus location for this role: Central
- Local travel may be required for All Staff Meetings.

Hours and Schedule
Full time: 40 hours per week, which includes:
- Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm during office hour operations.
- Requires occasional evening and weekend work pertaining to ministry's needs and events as scheduled in advance.
- Attendance at the following staff meetings is required for this role: Annual Reset, Annual Meeting, All Staff Trainings, recurring meetings as required, and additional meetings as requested.
