Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Oversee HR compliance including maintaining Employee Handbook and labor law postings.
  • Attract/hire: recruit, interview, and facilitate hiring; create job descriptions; conduct background checks.
  • Oversee payroll updates, timecards, PTO, and benefits enrollment.
  • Manage performance reviews, coaching, and staff development.
  • Ensure ACA compliance and HIPAA regulations are followed.

Job Location: Sunset Hills Campus - St Louis, MO 63127

Summary: The Human Resource Director will facilitate daily HR functions like keeping track of employees’ records and leading the interview process. Your role, also, involves performing tasks with a focus to grow our company’s talent pipeline and improve our sourcing tactics. Must lead from humility and be willing to go the extra mile. The administrative part of the job requires an outstanding time management skill & responsible understanding of deadlines. Being able to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

This position requires its primary duty must be the performance of office or non-manual work directly related to the management or general business operations of the employer; and its primary duty includes the exercise of discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance.

Essential Functions
Personal:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Oversee HR compliance:
  • Maintain Employee Handbook; update regularly
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations
  • File required reports as per labor law requirements (EEOC when applicable, etc)
  • Knowledge of best practices
  • Maintain employee files
  • Compliance with labor law postings
Attract/Hire:
  • Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring for open positions; collaborate with departmental managers
  • Create job descriptions
  • Administer assessments
  • Conduct background & reference checks
  • Extend offers
  • Oversee salary planning & banding
  • Conduct new hire orientation
  • Culture setter
  • Maintain all company documentation
  • Ensure I9 compliance
Oversee Payroll:
  • Communicate closely on payroll updates to CPA
  • Review and approve payroll by deadline
  • Review timecards weekly
  • Track PTO
  • Annually:
  • Manage & communicate Longevity bonus & Christmas bonus
  • Oversee Housing Allowance for pastors
  • Ensure Open Enrollment benefits are updated
Performance Management:
  • Handle employment-related inquiries
  • Oversee Annual Reviews
  • Oversee staff training
  • Assist in coaching, disciplinary actions, & investigations
  • Provide staff recognition
  • Employee engagement/surveys
Benefits Administration:
  • Partner strategically with Benefit Broker to ensure best coverage and prices are offered for Health, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability, HSA, & Retirement
  • Oversee annual & new employee enrollment
  • Conduct monthly invoice reconciliation & payment
  • Oversee ACA Compliance
  • Ensure HIPPA regulations are followed
Separation:
  • Conduct Exit Interview and share feedback with managementEnsure Exit Checklist has been completed
  • Oversee COBRA Administration
Risk Management Compliance:
  • Manage company's insurance program (property, GL, auto, worker's comp, etc)
  • Complete and mail company's personal property tax on vehicles annually
  • Manage Workman’s Comp claims
  • Oversee Accident Reports
  • OSHA (if applicable)

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment (routinely uses standard office equipment).

Physical Demands

Office time is mostly a sedentary role (stationary at desk and working on a computer); during services and events, must have high energy for multiple hour segments.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

The weekly schedule will include 40-45 hours per week and will be the same every week. In addition to your regular weekly hours you will be asked to participate in events that will occasionally include evening or weekend hours, as there are continual seasons where it will be necessary to exceed these minimum hours (i.e., Christmas, Easter, Strategic Planning, are just some examples and do not encompass all of the extended hours opportunities). These hours can/will fluctuate.

Travel

Campus to campus local travel and occasional overnight trips may be expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience
  • Level of experience: Intermediate (practical application)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • At least three years of human resource management experience
Preferred Education and Experience
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP
