VOESTALPINE RAILWAY SYSTEMS NORTRAK LLC in Knoxville, TN is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator onsite. You will support recruitment, onboarding, training, and offboarding while coordinating all safety programs and paperwork.

The role emphasizes a strong safety culture and comprehensive HR data management. Responsibilities include maintaining HR records, processing payroll and benefits data, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant HR experience.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in HR (preferred).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management.
  • Experience administering and communicating benefit programs.
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel.
  • Experience with ADP HRIS and Kronos is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all safety initiatives and maintain safety records.
  • Promote safety culture with employees and partners.
  • Maintain HR records and keep HR data current in the HRIS.
  • Process payroll, benefits, attendance data entry and compliance.
  • Coordinate the employee review process on schedule.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance (HIPAA, FMLA, OSHA).
  • Support onboarding, recruitment, and terminations per policy.
  • Assist with employee relations and event planning.

Job description

Knoxville, TN (onsite) offers a Human Resources Coordinator role focused on supporting the full employee lifecycle while partnering closely with safety and compliance. At VOESTALPINE RAILWAY SYSTEMS NORTRAK LLC, you will work within a supportive, family-oriented Nortrak Blue culture and help maintain a workplace where Health and Safety is the #1 priority. Responsibilities
  • Coordinate all safety initiatives and maintain safety records.
  • Champion and promote the safety culture with employees.
  • Maintain accurate and complete safety and HR records in line with specified guidelines.
  • Keep HR data current in the HRIS system for all employees, ensuring it is accurate and efficient.
  • Meet scheduled commitments by supporting accurate processing of payroll, benefits, attendance, data entry, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate the employee review process according to required timelines.
  • Ensure accurate, timely regulatory compliance including HIPAA, FMLA, OSHA, and applicable employment law.
  • Apply good judgment for cost control for assigned purchasing decisions.
  • Serve as a liaison with vendors and employees regarding disability claims administration.
  • Support employee relations through administration of employee programs and policies, and plan and coordinate company or employee events.
  • Answer employee questions related to policies and benefits.Coordinate training and safety activities, including scheduling training, special events, and maintaining records.
  • Adhere to Nortrak’s Environmental Procedures, Practices and Policies.
  • Lead recruitment and selection activities to fill open positions.
  • Support onboarding for new employees, ensuring tools are effectively utilized by managers and supervisors to drive successful onboarding.
  • Complete exit interviews and process terminations according to company policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant HR experience.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management.
  • Experience administering and communicating benefit programs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with ADP HRIS and Krono’s software is preferred.

Working Environment and Physical Demands
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer; occasional standing and walking for your scheduled shift.
  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods and move throughout the building to access files.
  • Must work effectively in a noisy environment.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment or objects up to 20-25 pounds occasionally.
  • Visual requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasional travel is required, involving walking, standing, sitting, and driving for varying durations.
  • Frequent use of hands and arms for dialing phones and using a computer mouse.
Purpose of the Position

Coordinate and support HR activities tied to the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, training management, and offboarding, while coordinating all aspects of the company safety program.
