Job description

A well-established, employee-owned company in the Kansas City area is seeking an HR Coordinator to join their collaborative HR Operations team. As a newly created position, this role offers the chance to grow within the team while taking ownership of important HR processes, including onboarding, compliance tracking, data management, and system support. The ideal candidate is curious, detail-oriented, and ready to contribute wherever needed.

This full-time, direct hire position is in a hybrid setting after completion of training.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with new hire onboarding, benefits enrollment, and file audits
  • Review data across HRIS, ATS, and vendor portals to ensure accuracy and consistency
  • Track compliance for training, certifications, and documentation deadlines
  • Monitor HR inboxes and route items appropriately to ensure timely follow-up
  • Support process documentation, SharePoint updates, and file maintenance
  • Coordinate with payroll and benefits teams on employee changes and reports
  • Run system audits, verify data, and flag missing steps or discrepancies
  • Assist with ad hoc HR projects and act as a utility player across the department

Requirements:

  • 1–3 years of experience in an HR support, coordinator, or administrator role
  • Greenhouse ATS and Paycom HRIS experience a plus
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to anticipate issues and take initiative
  • Comfortable navigating systems, spreadsheets, and digital records
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexible and team-oriented—able to shift focus as needs arise
