Located in the Live Music Capital of the World, the Omni Austin Hotel Downtown is within walking distance from the 6th Street Entertainment District. Omni is a luxury hotel with elegant amenities, situated in the heart of downtown, close to the Austin Convention Center and the Texas State Capitol.

About the Role

This position is ideal for candidates looking to start their career in Human Resources. The Human Resources Coordinator will support the HR team in various core HR functions, including clerical tasks, recruitment, employee relations, training, occupational health and safety, compensation and benefits, and HR policies. Additionally, this role will collaborate with the Finance department on daily accounting and finance-related responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a welcoming reception for associates and candidates at the Associate Service Center.
  • Maintain an organized and professional reception area.
  • Manage associate programs, including birthday and anniversary celebrations, bulletin boards, and postings.
  • File and maintain associate records in compliance with HR standards and legal requirements.
  • Conduct audits of employee files and documentation.
  • Assist with New Hire Orientation and onboarding processes.
  • Support associates by answering questions or directing inquiries to appropriate team members.
  • Participate in planning and executing HR department events.
  • Handle departmental mail and communications.
  • Assist with updates to employee records such as address, marital status, etc.
  • Support applicants with online applications and related questions.
  • Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately with signatures.
  • Prepare payroll reports by deadlines.
  • Order and organize office supplies, including nametags and folders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Experience in HR and/or hotel management is preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication skills in English; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with computers, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and data management.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive employee information.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible and willing to take on special projects as needed.
  • Ability to represent the Omni brand positively.
