Title: Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP)

Status: Full-Time/Exempt

Reports to: Chief of Staff

Location: Remote with 20% travel to practices and corporate office in Florham Park, NJ. Candidates in PA/NJ/NY preferred.

Overview

SDM is seeking an experienced and people-oriented Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to provide strategic and hands-on HR support across assigned regions. The HRBP will serve as a trusted advisor to regional and practice leadership, guiding employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefits, training, and policy implementation. The ideal candidate will be proactive, collaborative, and capable of delivering high-quality HR solutions in a multi-state, dynamic healthcare environment.

Core Responsibilities

  • Strategic HR Partnership:
  • Build effective relationships with regional and practice leaders to support workforce planning, talent development, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align HR strategies with business goals.
  • Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the HR team to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
  • Employee Relations and Compliance:
  • Provide guidance on employee relations issues including coaching, conflict resolution, performance improvement plans, and disciplinary actions.
  • Conduct thorough and compliant workplace investigations in partnership with the Head of HR.
  • Ensure adherence to SDM policies and federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Talent and Performance Management:
  • Support the annual performance management process, including training leaders, tracking progress, and facilitating feedback sessions.
  • Partner with leadership to ensure alignment of performance outcomes with compensation recommendations.
  • Benefits, Leave Administration & Payroll Support:
  • Serve as a resource for employees regarding benefits, time off policies, and HR systems.
  • Administer leave programs and coordinate with external vendors and internal payroll teams.
  • Assist in troubleshooting payroll-related employee issues.
  • Training, Communication & Reporting:
  • Deliver HR-related training for managers and employees on key topics such as performance management, compliance, and company policies.
  • Develop and disseminate HR communications and updates.
  • Generate and analyze HR metrics and provide actionable insights (e.g., turnover, retention, exit interviews, etc.).

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in an HRBP role supporting multi-state operations.
  • HR certification (SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR) preferred.
  • Prior experience in healthcare, dental, or multi-site service environments strongly preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of federal and state employment laws, benefits, and HR systems; experience with ADP Workforce Now a plus.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% to supported practices and company events.
