Job summary

Oil-Dri Corporation of America seeks an HR Business Partner to serve as a strategic partner to site leaders at Taft, CA. This onsite role drives engagement, performance, and HR strategy to support organizational goals.

Based at an active mine site, the HRBP will collaborate with management to recruit, manage performance, ensure compliance, and lead change initiatives. Monday–Friday onsite, with movement across site functions and strong focus on employee relations and capability development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 4 yrs. experience in Human Resources with a focus on business partnerships.
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred.
  • Strong understanding of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and other HR-related software applications.
  • Regular in-person attendance consistent with the Company's established work schedule is an essential function for full-time positions.

Responsibilities

  • Work with site management to understand objectives and develop HR strategies.

  • Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and lead recruitment efforts.
  • Provide guidance on teammate relations, performance management, disciplinary actions, and investigations.
  • Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and partner with legal as needed.
  • Implement and oversee performance management, including goal setting and reviews.
  • Identify training needs and develop programs to enhance teammate skills.
  • Assist in development of compensation and benefits programs aligned with objectives.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and processes compliant with laws and regulations.
  • Use HR data/metrics to identify trends and inform improvements.
  • Support change management initiatives and maintain visibility with teammates.

Role Overview

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a strategic partner to leaders, providing guidance and support in all areas of HR management. The HRBP collaborates closely with management to develop and implement HR strategies that foster teammate engagement, drive performance, and support the achievement of organizational goals.


This position is based at an active mine site and requires daily onsite presence. Work conditions may include uneven terrain, climbing ladders, navigating steps, and exposure to varying weather conditions such as heat, rain, or mud. Monday - Friday onsite required.


Key Responsibilities


  • Work with site management, including regularly scheduled 1:1’s to understand organizational objectives and develop HR strategies to support them.

  • Works closely with site leadership, & teammates to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.

  • Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs, develop job descriptions, and lead recruitment efforts to attract top talent.

  • Provide guidance and support on teammate relations matters, including performance management, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution and conducting investigations.

  • Maintains knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of teammates, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required.

  • Implement and oversee performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, and development planning.

  • Collaborate with managers to identify training needs and develop programs to enhance teammate skills and knowledge.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of compensation and benefits programs that are competitive and aligned with organizational objectives.

  • Works with the entire HR Team in developing and implementing HR programs, systems, policies and processes.

  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

  • Utilize HR data and metrics to identify trends, assess effectiveness of HR programs, and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.

  • Implement initiatives to foster a positive work environment, enhance teammate engagement.

  • Support organizational change initiatives by providing guidance on change management strategies and communication plans.

  • Maintain active support & visibility to teammates.

Education & Experience:



  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 4 yrs. experience in Human Resources with a focus on business partnerships.
