Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to join the Regional HR team in Indianapolis, IN. This hybrid, full-time role supports dually employed physicians and APPs, partnering with IU School of Medicine on employee relations and design issues.

The candidate will coach leaders on documentation and performance, guide change management, and advise on labor and wage compliance in a matrixed environment, reporting to the Director – Human Resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR or related field required.
• Master's degree preferred.
• SHRM or HRCI certification is a plus.
• 3-5 years HR experience.
• Must guide HR regulations (FLSA, COBRA, ADA, FMLA).
• Proficiency in MS Office including Power BI, SharePoint.
• Able to work independently in a matrixed environment.

Human Resources Business Partner

We are seeking an experienced, independent, and strategically minded HR Business Partner to support the Metro area academic side of IU Health, including dually employed physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, and their leaders. In this role, you would be a strategic partner - coaching leaders on documentation and performance, supporting organizational design, guiding change management efforts, and advising on labor and wage compliance matters. The day to day is highly varied, with no two situations exactly alike, and the role requires someone who operates with sound independent judgment.

Reports to: Director – Human Resources

Direct reports: None

Shift: Full time, Monday – Friday, hybrid (3 days per week in office)

Location: Indianapolis, IN

The Scope:

This role provides strategic HR partnership across the Metro academic service area, including:

• Serving as the primary HR partner for dually employed physicians, APPs, and their leaders
• Working hand in hand with the IU School of Medicine on employee relations matters that involve dually employed faculty and clinical staff
• Coaching leaders on documentation practices, performance management, behavioral issues, and organizational design
• Guiding leaders through change management and helping them build team buy in around initiative rollouts
• Advising leaders on labor and wage law application
• Supporting the implementation of system wide HR initiatives including annual performance reviews, employee engagement programs, and succession planning
• Partnering with HR Centers of Excellence in talent acquisition, total rewards, talent management, and learning and development as needed
• Producing advanced PowerPoint and Excel deliverables including data storytelling and recommendation making materials for leader audiences
• Operating independently across a highly matrixed, complex environment

Candidate Qualifications

Candidates for this position will be evaluated according to the following criteria and competencies.

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field is required. Master's Degree is preferred.
• SHRM or HRCI certification is a plus.
• Requires 3-5 years of relevant Human Resources experience.
• Requires experience in the execution of HR programs.
• Must be able to guide the application of HR related regulations and laws (e.g. FLSA, COBRA, ADA, FMLA, etc.).
• Requires proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Power BI and SharePoint.
• Thrives in uncertain environments, exercising sound judgment, initiative, and independence to achieve results. Proven ability to manage through ambiguity, adapt to evolving priorities, and work autonomously to deliver outcomes.
• Experience in a highly matrixed and complex work environment is preferred.
• Must be willing to submit to a background check and drug screen.
