Job summary

Sibelco Group is seeking aSenior HR Business Partner to support management and employees across multiple locations from our Houston HQ. This role focuses on strategic staffing, talent management, and people programs while ensuring compliance with federal, state (California) and local laws.

The ideal candidate brings 7–10 years of HRBP experience, fluency in Spanish or strong proficiency, and solid project management and data skills to drive workforce planning and employee relations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent.
• 7–10 years of HR business partner experience with at least 5 years in HR.
• Fluent in Spanish or strong working proficiency in the language.
• Strong knowledge of California employment and wage laws.

Responsibilities

• Track and report on key metrics to measure staffing and activities.
• Partner with operations management as a trusted advisor.

• Manage employee relations, coaching, investigations, and performance issues to resolution.
• Drive workforce planning and talent attraction/retention with HR team.
• Ensure compliance with HR policies and labor laws.
• Lead HR projects and initiatives to drive business forward.

Job Description:

• Provide strategic and tactical human resources business partner support to management and employees across multiple locations.
• Act as the point of contact for HR-related processes, issues, questions for client groups.
• Track and report on key metrics, designed to measure and predict staffing and other activities.
• Understand the business, be closely aligned with the operations management team, and serve as a trusted advisor.
• Support the implementation and administration of HR programs and processes including but not limited to:
• Strategic staffing, succession planning and talent management, and performance management.
• Compensation and benefits management and training.
• Employee training and development as set out in the HR training strategy.
• Employee relations matters including, coaching, and counseling managers and employees to improve performance. Conducting confidential workplace investigations, and actively managing performance issues to resolution.
• Identify workforce requirements in consultation with business leaders and drive programs for talent attraction and retention with the HR team.
• Partner effectively with the HR and functional teams to ensure business needs are met.
• Lead and/or execute HR projects and initiatives to drive the business forward.
• Ensure compliance with the Company’s HR policies, processes, and practices. Maintain current knowledge of federal, state (especially California) and local employment practices and labor laws.
• Exercise influence through ongoing development of internal/external relationships across the organization.
• Role model of the Company’s ethical standards, professionalism, and code of conduct.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline from a 4-year accredited college or university.
• Seven (7) to ten (10) years of HR business partner with at least five (5) years of experience
• Ability to work with all levels of the Company, from front-line employees to senior leadership.
• Strong consultative and customer-service skills, with the ability to perform as a trusted advisor.
• Ability to problem solve and proactively offer a variety of options and solutions to issues.
• Strong knowledge of California employment and wage laws required
• Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Demonstrated ability to set priorities and to respond to changing demands from multiple sources.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills.
• Ability to analyze data.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaborate as a team member.
• Highly proficient in working independently in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
• Must be fluent in Spanish, or at a minimum, possess a strong working proficiency in the language.

Potential travel up to 35% to domestic locations
