Position Summary
Kalon Aesthetics is seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to join our People team. This role will serve as a trusted HR partner to leaders and employees across our multi-state organization, providing hands‑on support across employee relations, performance management, compliance, organizational effectiveness, and employee experience.
This is a highly visible, hands‑on role for an HR professional who is comfortable moving between strategic partnership and execution. The HRBP will independently manage complex employee matters, coach leaders through people decisions, strengthen HR processes, and help build scalable programs that support a growing and evolving organization.
The ideal candidate brings strong HR judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to operate independently in a fast‑paced environment with multiple brands, locations, and competing priorities.
Key Responsibilities
HR Business Partnership & Employee Relations
- Serve as a primary HR partner to managers and employees across assigned practices and corporate functions.
- Independently manage employee relations matters, including performance concerns, workplace complaints, investigations, conflict resolution, corrective action, and terminations.
- Coach managers on effective performance management, employee communication, documentation, and leadership practices.
- Draft and review employee communications, corrective actions, performance improvement plans, and other HR documentation.
- Identify recurring employee and organizational issues and recommend solutions.
Compliance & HR Operations
- Support compliance across a multi‑state workforce, including California, Colorado, Washington, Texas, and Arizona.
- Partner on leave and accommodation matters, including FMLA, ADA, state‑specific leave requirements, and the interactive process.
- Support wage-and-hour, policy, employment practice, and other HR compliance initiatives.
- Conduct proactive audits and identify opportunities to strengthen HR practices before issues arise.
- Develop, document, and improve HR policies, procedures, templates, and workflows to create greater consistency and scalability.
Manager & Organizational Effectiveness
- Build strong relationships with practice and corporate leaders and develop an understanding of their teams, operations, and workforce challenges.
- Develop and deliver practical manager training and tools around performance management, employee relations, and core people‑management responsibilities.
- Support organizational changes, role design, workforce planning, succession discussions, and team effectiveness initiatives.
- Help strengthen accountability and consistency in how managers lead and manage employees across the organization.
Growth & Integration
- Support the people side of acquisitions and integrations, including employee communications, onboarding, policy alignment, organizational changes, and employee support.
- Partner with HR leadership to integrate newly acquired practices while maintaining appropriate consistency across the broader organization.
- Support other strategic People initiatives as the organization continues to grow.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred.
- 5-8+ years of progressive HR experience, including significant hands‑on employee relations and HR business partnering experience.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex and sensitive employee relations matters.
- Strong working knowledge of federal and state employment laws; multi‑state HR experience strongly preferred.
- California HR/employment experience strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting managers and leaders in a distributed, multi‑location organization preferred.
- Healthcare, medical practice, multi‑site, or similarly fast‑paced operating experience is preferred.
- SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR, or similar certification is a plus.
