Job summary

Champaign County is seeking a Human Resources Associate (Full-Time, Non-Exempt) in the County Executive department. Provides technical support on HR and IT functions and assists with billing, forms, and recordkeeping.

Qualifications

Job Title: Human Resources Associate

Department: County Executive

Reports To: HR Manager

Summary

Provides technical support and assistance on human resources (HR) and information technology (IT) functions.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Includes but not limited to the following as other duties may be assigned.

  • Support the HR and IT teams.
  • May assist with billing and invoicing for IT and Administrative Services departments.
  • May revise special forms and department documents.
  • Maintain recordkeeping of personnel changes, coordinate and facilitate employee orientation and other trainings as directed.
  • Arrange programs, events, and meetings by scheduling meeting rooms, issuing information, and coordinating speakers, and controlling event budget.
  • Assist in reviewing and updating departmental forms and documents, ensuring all materials meet current ADA accessibility standards.
  • Complete and submit required reports and assist with compliance updates.
  • Clerk committee meetings, take notes and prepare minutes, action reports, and resolutions.
  • Prepare correspondence and reports requiring the use of word processing equipment.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems.
Education and/or Experience
  • Associate degree with a major in Human Resources from an accredited institution or equivalent combination of education and experience that would provide the above-noted knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Compensation
  • $19.04 – $28.57 per hour depending on qualifications and experience.
