Job summary

Social Science Services Inc. dba Cedar House Life Change Center is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to manage onboarding, payroll support and policy compliance. The role emphasizes trauma-informed, confidential service in a team environment.

The successful candidate will handle HR administration, benefits coordination, and workplace safety programs, while ensuring regulatory compliance and effective employee relations across the organization.

Qualifications

• Experience in Human Resources is preferred.
• 12 years of education or GED required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and discretion.
• Familiarity with payroll and benefits processes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain location badges.
• Distribute and maintain Narcan stock.
• Announce birthdays, anniversaries and transfers in HRIS.
• Assist in maintaining compliance records.
• Talent acquisition and onboarding of new employees.
• Support payroll and recruitment processes for staff.
• Direct colleagues to HR Generalist/Specialist or Payroll Specialist as needed.
• Assist in developing HR policies and training.
• Ensure compliance with compensation, benefits and employment laws.
• Promote timely attendance and recordkeeping.
• Assist with subpoenas and audit records.
• Support HR programs to ensure a safe, trauma-responsive workplace.
• Train co-workers on HR processes as needed.
• Provide life-saving measures if required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Salary range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00 / Hour.

DUTY STATEMENT AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Functions

• Create and maintain location badges.
• Distribute and maintain employee and facility Narcan.
• Announce birthdays, anniversaries, promotions, and transfers within the HRIS System.
• Assist in maintaining compliance records.
• Talent Acquisition and employee onboarding.
• Provide support to employees on various HR-related topics, such as payroll and recruitment.
• Direct employees to the prospective HR Generalist/Specialist and Payroll Specialist based on qualifying reasons.
• Assist in the development and implementation of human resource policies.
• Ensure compliance with all company and government regulatory standards in compensation, benefits, affirmative action, employment law, and diversity.
• Maintain timely and reliable attendance.
• Assist in the fulfillment of subpoena and audit records.
• Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace.
• Consistently applies trauma-responsive practices to promote safety, trust, and healing.
• Required to train or assist in the trainings of co-workers as needed.
• Perform life-saving measures when needed to protect the lives of Cedar House clients and employees.
• Other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

• Have experience within the Human Resources Field. (Preferred)

Education

• Have completed 12 years of education or GED. (Required)
• Have completed some college education. (Preferred)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to remain in a stationary position 80% of the time. They will also need to move around inside the office occasionally to access filing cabinets, office machinery, etc. The employee must be capable of operating a computer and other office productivity machinery. There may be occasions where the employee needs to climb up or down a ladder or equipment and position themselves to maintain files in file cabinets. It is essential for the employee to communicate information and ideas clearly so that others can understand. They must also be able to provide accurate information in these situations. The employee should be able to observe details at close range and occasionally move boxes weighing up to 20 pounds for various reasons. Additionally, the employee may need to work around or be exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
