Job summary

Cedar House Life Change Center seeks a dedicated staff member to support individuals through intake, bed management, and ongoing documentation. You will monitor beneficiary wellbeing, report changes to case managers, and ensure attendance at groups.

The role requires strong confidentiality and trauma-informed care, with driving duties and transport as needed. Qualified candidates may hold CPR/First Aid/AED certification and current registrations with CAADE/CADTP/CCAPP, aiming to maintain

Responsibilities

  • Conduct intake with all beneficiaries, including forms and orientation.
  • Manage bed assignments.
  • Maintain documentation in beneficiary records (intake notes, case notes, discharge notes, shift reports).
  • Observe and report beneficiary behavior to case managers and document in charts.
  • Ensure beneficiaries attend meetings and groups as able.
  • Oversee self-administration of medication.
  • Provide transportation of beneficiaries as needed.

Salary range for this position is $23.00 - $28.50 / Hour.

Job Functions:
  • Conduct intake with all beneficiaries, including CalOMs forms, consent forms, ROI, and assessments, as well as orientation to the program.
  • Manage bed assignments.
  • Maintain documentation in the beneficiary record, which includes intake notes, updated case notes, discharge notes, and shift reports.
  • Receive briefing from prior shift personnel on recent developments.
  • Observe and report beneficiary behavior to case managers and document in the beneficiary chart as well as shift report in HER.
  • Ensure beneficiaries attend all meetings and groups if physically able.
  • Conduct walk-throughs of facility and beneficiary rooms every 30 minutes and provide documentation of walkthroughs.
  • Monitor and record vitals of withdrawal management beneficiaries as instructed, as well as conduct 30-minute close watch observation and document in the beneficiary record.
  • Provide quality service to clients as required by Cedar House Life Change Center, State, and County Requirements.
  • Maintain timely and reliable attendance.
  • Oversee the self-administration of medication.
  • Provide transportation of beneficiaries as needed.
  • Driving Requirements
    • Hold a valid California Driver's License
    • Four years of driving experience
    • Must be at least 21 years of age
    • No more than one at-fault accidents in the last three years
    • No more than three moving violations in the last three years
    • No major violation in the last 3 years
  • Answer telephones.
  • Perform life-saving measures when needed to protect the lives of Cedar House clients and employees.
  • Consistently applies trauma-responsive practices to promote safety, trust, and healing.
  • Required to train or assist in the trainings of co-workers as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Requirements
Qualifications
  • Be registered upon hire under an accredited drug and alcohol certification program, CAADE, CADTP, or CCAPP (preferred).
Experience
Education
  • Complete continuing education and trainings as required by Cedar House, County, and State mandates.
  • Completed twelve years of education or have a GED.
  • Enroll and complete a drug studies certificate program.
  • Maintain current CPR/First Aid/AED.
  • Maintain current registration with CAADE, CADTP, or CCAPP.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Knowledgeable of Confidentiality laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Knowledgeable about referral procedures.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
  • Must understand the nature of alcohol/drug addiction and the recovery process.
  • Ability to address stressful situations in a calm manner and be able to communicate in a positive way.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups of people.
  • Resourcefulness and strong problem-solving skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. They will also need to move around inside the office occasionally to access filing cabinets, office machinery, medical supplies, etc. The employee must be capable of operating a computer and other productivity machinery. There may be occasions where the employee needs to climb up or down a ladder or equipment and position themselves to maintain files in file cabinets and necessary medical supplies. It is essential for the employee to communicate information and ideas clearly so that others can understand. They must also be able to provide accurate information in these situations. The employee should be able to observe details at close range and occasionally move boxes weighing up to 40 pounds (individually) for various reasons. Additionally, the employee may need to work around or be exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
