Job summary

Alarm Detection Systems (ADS) is hiring a Human Resources Assistant to join our Colorado location. You will assist onboarding, recruiting, employee engagement, HR administration, and leadership support, gaining exposure to a broad range of HR functions.

You will maintain records, handle confidential information, coordinate HR processes, and contribute to communications and events for employees and leaders across the organization.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field required.
  • 1–2 years of experience in an administrative role within HR preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Ability to learn HRIS, payroll, applicant tracking, and other business software.

Responsibilities

  • Support onboarding and new employee orientation to create a welcoming experience.
  • Process and maintain employee documentation (I-9, tax forms, agreements, state paperwork).
  • Maintain accurate HR records and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Assist with recruiting activities, including candidate communication and interview scheduling.
  • Create and distribute employee communications (emails, newsletters, social media).
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and company events.
  • Provide administrative support to leadership, including calendar management and travel arrangements.
  • Greet visitors and manage front desk; process payments and visitor access.

How You'll Make an Impact

As our Human Resources Assistant, you'll help create a positive experience for employees, candidates, visitors, and leaders while keeping important HR and administrative processes running smoothly.

In This Role, You Will
  • Support new employee onboarding and orientation to create a welcoming, organized, and effective experience.
  • Process and maintain employee documentation, including Form I-9, tax forms, employment agreements, state‑specific paperwork, and other HR records.
  • Maintain accurate employee personnel, training, and HR records while handling confidential information with care and discretion.
  • Assist with recruiting activities, including candidate communication, interview scheduling, screening interviews as assigned, career fairs, and other recruiting initiatives.
  • Respond to employee questions and requests with professionalism and exceptional customer service.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, company events, scholarship activities, blood drives, and other company-sponsored events.
  • Create and distribute employee communications, including emails, announcements, newsletters, social media content, and other informational materials.
  • Assist with employee offboarding and termination preparation, including documentation, company property, and record updates.
  • Provide administrative support to company and regional leadership, including calendar management, meeting coordination, travel arrangements, document preparation, and follow‑up activities.
  • Serve as a welcoming and professional front desk representative by greeting visitors, answering and directing calls, responding to inquiries, processing customer payments, and managing visitor access.
  • Assist with purchasing, expense reports, invoices, supplies, uniforms, company apparel, employee badges, mail, packages, and other office operations.
  • Coordinate company licensing requests and renewals, maintain licensing records, and track expiration dates.
  • Support special projects and initiatives involving Human Resources, leadership, and regional operations.

Background & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field required.
  • 1–2 years of experience in an administrative role within HR, office management, or a related field highly preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Ability to quickly learn HRIS, payroll, applicant tracking, electronic records, e‑signature, and other business software.
  • Experience creating professional written communications, presentations, newsletters, or other employee‑facing materials is a plus.
Additional Requirements
  • Valid driver's license and ability to maintain an insurable driving record.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain a SHRM‑CP or HRCI PHR certification.
What to Expect on the Job

This is a full‑time, onsite position in either our Colorado location. You'll primarily work in a professional office environment while interacting with employees, candidates, visitors, customers, and company leadership throughout the day.

This is a fast‑paced role with a variety of responsibilities, so you should be comfortable shifting priorities and balancing HR responsibilities with administrative and office support needs. Occasional travel may be required for career fairs, training, meetings, or other business‑related activities.

The position involves prolonged periods working at a desk and computer, along with standing, walking, and occasionally lifting items weighing up to 30 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.

Compensation

Pay Range: $24.00–$28.00 per hour. Starting pay is based on knowledge, skills, education, certifications, experience, and overall qualifications.
