As a Senior HR Business Partner, you will support an engineering organization of 350+ employees as a trusted advisor on all people-related matters. You know that strong, lasting relationships are essential to influencing decisions and driving meaningful change. You thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments, embracing ambiguity while collaborating with department leaders and the broader HR team to elevate the employee experience across the full lifecycle.

You will lead core HR processes for your assigned groups, including performance reviews, employee development, hiring, succession planning, and employee relations. Your focus is to deliver a high-quality employee experience that supports our long-term business objectives, helps us retain top talent, and reinforces our reputation as a great place to work.

As a key HR resource, you will provide tailored support to managers and employees, coach leaders, resolve employee concerns, and advance strategic HR initiatives to drive positive outcomes.

This role is based at our Tysons HQ. We value in-person collaboration and require working from the office Monday through Thursday each week.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a strategic HR partner by providing programmatic support, coaching, and thought partnership to all levels within the Software Engineering organization.
• Partner with leaders to provide both strategic guidance and hands-on HR support, balancing big-picture thinking with day-to-day execution. This role requires someone who is comfortable shifting between strategy and transactional work - from advising leaders and facilitating discussions to drafting documents, managing employee relations matters, and supporting core HR processes.
• Build strong relationships to gain deep insight into business needs and challenges.
• Develop people strategies and design approaches for diagnosing and enhancing organizational effectiveness and employee satisfaction.
• Partner with business leaders to manage and facilitate organizational change.
• Proactively assess team and manager development needs, make recommendations, and implement appropriate solutions.
• Provide HR expertise in areas such as performance management, employee relations, leadership development, coaching, and organizational growth.
• Guide managers through complex employee relations matters, ensuring fair and consistent resolution of workplace issues, including investigations and performance improvement plans.
• Integrate and partner with HR colleagues in the Recruiting, Learning & Development, Compensation, Legal, and HR Operations teams to implement solutions and help scale the business.
• Perform other HR-related duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in a HR Business Partner role.
• Previous experience supporting engineering teams is preferred but not required.
• Proven employee relations experience and guidance, with the ability to manage delicate situations with fairness and appropriate outcomes.
• Strong client-service focus and ability to build and manage relationships across different levels and functions.
• Desire to work collaboratively with broader HR team to analyze, plan, and improve processes.
• Able to balance multiple time-sensitive deliverables and effectively prioritize, organize, and manage time.
• Commitment to excellence and high level of integrity; ability to exercise strict confidentiality and sound judgement.
• Takes ownership of work, isn't afraid to tackle challenges, sees opportunities for growth, and has the patience to learn new processes.
