Job summary

Seneca Foods Corporation in Glencoe, MN is seeking a full-time Human Resources Assistant to provide administrative support to the HR department, including workers' compensation, leave administration, safety reporting, recruitment and onboarding, and HR recordkeeping.

This role ensures compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements while supporting employee programs and wellness initiatives, maintaining accurate HR documentation, and assisting the HR Manager in daily operations.

Qualifications

• Two-year degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Experience with workers' compensation, leave administration, medical coordination preferred.
• Experience with community outreach or HR support function preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Worker's Compensation program, including filing First Reports of Injury, arranging medical appointments, tracking work restrictions and accommodations, and serving as primary contact for the third-party administrator.
• Assist with incident investigations, follow-up documentation and maintain safety reporting requirements.
• Assist with leave administration processes, including tracking restrictions and coordinating return-to-work documentation.
• Provide support for seasonal and full-time staffing, including recruiting support, data entry, onboarding, orientations, and training coordination.
• Maintain HR records and assist with filing and reporting, including AAP tracking.
• Support employee programs and facility initiatives including employee engagement activities and wellness programs.
• Provide backup support to the HR Manager.
• Other duties as assigned

Starting wage range based on skills, abilities, and experience from $23.00 to $27.00 per hour.
