Job summary

Scaled Composites is seeking an HR Assistant to support the Human Resources Department with recruitment support, event coordination, and miscellaneous administrative tasks. Founded in 1982 by Burt Rutan, Scaled Composites is an aerospace company focused on rapid prototyping and manufacturing of proof‑of‑concept vehicles.

• Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality in both internal and external relationships.
• Excellent customer service skills including the ability to interact with a variety of different personalities and communication styles.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including a follow-up/status update mindset and excellent active listening skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Outlook).
• Ability to effectively read and interpret information, present numerical data in a resourceful manner, and skillfully gather and analyze information.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with recruiting processes (e.g. tracking applicants, scheduling interviews).
• Managing employee event coordination.
• Assembling data lists and/or reports and supporting other data related tasks. Answering employee questions and referring to HR Business Partners when needed.
• Responsible for office cleanliness, office supply inventory, and organization.
• Miscellaneous filing, record keeping, and data entry as needed.
• Assembling orientation and benefits packets, setting up personnel files.
• Writing, proofreading, and formatting email correspondence.
• Managing food orders and distribution during department events.
• Maintaining an in-person presence in order to support ad-hoc requests from team members and employees.
• Calendar management for the Human Resources Manager.

Summary:

Founded in 1982 by legendary aircraft designer Burt Rutan, Scaled Composites is an aerospace company continually working to push boundaries, prove out ideas, and influence the future. We are a rapid prototyping and manufacturing facility, designing, building, and testing proof-of-concept and prototype vehicles. We have flown an average of one new aircraft type per year over our 40-plus year history such as Proteus, GlobalFlyer, SpaceShipOne, Model 401, and Stratolaunch.
