Job summary

Hanon Systems in Novi, MI seeks an experienced HR professional to provide strategic and tactical HR support across the Americas. You will partner with employees and management on relations, performance, policy interpretation, and compliance while guiding investigations and organizational development.

You will manage expatriate programs, U.S. immigration processes, payroll oversight, HRIS data, and collaboration with global HR teams.

Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of experience across HR disciplines.
  • Bachelor's in human resources, Labor Relations, or related major required; MS Human Resources / Organizational Development or MBA preferred.
  • Domestic and international travel required; overtime required as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as key HR partner to employees and management, providing guidance on employee relations, performance management, workplace concerns, disciplinary actions, and policy interpretation.
  • Lead and support employee relations investigations, including complaints, workplace conduct issues, corrective actions, documentation, and resolution of employee concerns while ensuring consistent and fair practices.
  • Manage expatriate employee administration, including assignments, onboarding/offboarding, relocation coordination, compensation and benefits support, repatriation, and coordination with home-country and global HR teams.
  • Coordinate and manage U.S. immigration and work authorization processes, including H-1B, L-1, TN, F-1/OPT/CPT, employment authorization, visa extensions, and other employment-based immigration matter in partnership with immigration counsel.
  • Support and coordinate employment-based permanent residency (Green Card) processes, including PERM, I-140, and adjustment-of-status activities, while maintaining immigration documentation and tracking critical expiration dates.
  • Provide HR oversight and support for payroll administration, including payroll changes, employee data validation, deductions, leave/pay coordination, bonus payments, and resolution of payroll discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO, wage and hour requirements, I-9/employment eligibility, and other HR-related legal requirements.
  • Administer and coordinate FMLA, ADA accommodations, leaves of absence, workers’ compensation, and return-to-work processes, ensuring appropriate documentation and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data, including organizational changes, job/title changes, compensation actions, employment status changes, and employee documentation.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, transfers, promotions, terminations, reductions in force, retirement, and other employee lifecycle activities.
  • Partner with HR leadership and legal counsel on high‑risk or sensitive employee matters, ensuring appropriate documentation, risk assessment, and compliance with company policies and employment laws.
  • Support the development, implementation, and consistent application of HR policies, procedures, and compliance initiatives.
  • Prepare HR reports, employee documentation, correspondence, and compliance records and support internal and external audits as required.
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for employees and managers, providing timely and professional HR guidance while maintaining appropriate confidentiality and discretion.

Job description

This position is responsible for providing a broad range of strategic and tactical HR support to Hanon Systems and reports to the Americas HR Team Manager. Position will be required to support the business strategies and day to day activities which include.

Years of Experience

7-10 years of experience in a broad range of human resource disciplines.

Degree Preferred

Education: Bachelor's in human resources, Labor Relations, or related major required. MS Human Resources / Organizational Development or MBA preferred.
